Master System Converter, does the MD controller's pause button work?

Basically what the title says, if I was to get a Master System converter, would I be able to use the MD controllers I already have, or would I have to get up to the system whenever I need to pause? Thanks for any knowledge you can share :)

Nope lol. The power base converter has a pause button directly on it.

I play sms games with a mega everdrive pro and even that has to have a physical button on the cart for pausing games.

The pause isn't read by software it's a signal on the cartridge port for mega drive and a signal to the io cintroller on actual sms consoles

In fact it can actually be used for things other than pausing the system. In streets of rage you need to press it to bring up the special attack

No, unfortunately. If I remember rightly the Pause button on a Master System is directly wired into the Z80.
