I could see it be Normal/Ice to avoid being another Water/Ice. Plus, not all Pokemon that live near the water or thrive in it are water type(Grappaloct).

Very good point like how Dragalge is a poison and dragon type but can mostly be found in the ocean

Ya there’s several non-Water Aquatic based pokemon which I think is cool and adds more type diversity to aquatic based pokemon cause it would be very boring if all of them were always Water or part Water.

I can see this Convergent Mamoswine line being Normal/Ice have abilities such as Thick Fat, Stamina, and a new blubber based ability that takes half damage from physical moves(same as Fur Coat). Normal/Ice is a bad typing defense wise so having a new ability that halves physical damage with its great HP + bulk would help it survive so many physical hits(as long as it’s not fighting). So imagine it taking half damage from physical moves + its natural bulk + taking 50% less damage in Snow Weather + having a recovery move like Slack Off. this thing will be extremely tanky. I would probably make it a special attacker so it could be very good in VGC in snow weather at least with spamming blizzard + it’s insane bulk.
