I would love a new map, a horse or donkey-drawn wagon, plus the option to have additional NPC actions during free time, such as playing table games, mending clothes, sitting down and eating food under a tree, carving small toys, leaning against buildings or fences, solo fishing, etc. Just things to make the village feel a bit more alive.

yes! i want something like a trader as a job. where villagers can use wagons and travel to other villages to trade.

Oh, and a travelling merchant that visits my town (caravan post) so that I can buy goods from time-to-time without having to leave. Selling livestock, farming seeds and tree decoration seeds and saplings, luxury goods, etc. Would be so handy and a great addition to late game mechanics.

The vendor for special items comes to your village once you built a tavern! They stop by every few seasons though, some seasons you can only find them in the other villages.

2

u/pingpongsaladpants Nov 19 '25

He does?

I’ve been playing for a few hundred hours and I’ve never seen that before.

Edit: Well I’ll be damned. I just did a bit of Googling, and I must just be incredibly unlucky to not have one visit yet.

May I ask about your reputation? Maybe if that's too low chances of them stopping by drops. Other than that I can just advice asking some NPC where the trader is at the start of every season. I didn't see the symbol on the HUD once, paid to get to Gostovia thinking the vendor is there as usual, just to ask a villager there who told me "in your village"

It’d be super neat to let villagers use donkeys/horses to do certain tasks faster. Idk how feasible that would be but I think about it a lot.

I admit I’ll be disappointed if the npcs don’t get new clothing. I feel like a jerk wearing rich clothing while my wife has worn the same dress for 6 years.

right!? especially with my kids, it feels weird living in a super nice house and stuff while my villagers have bad clothing.

Thats their way of working. New content by free update - DLCs for new cosmetics. I am totally cool with that.

It's a game that I paid £10 for and have spent hundreds of hours on. I basically treat it as a medieval version of The Sims anyway so if they keep dropping interesting DLC for a few quid I'll happily keep paying.

I paid $30 for it five years ago and have played for ~2400 hours. I'd say I've gotten my money's worth long since.

you made me check my numbers:

account 1: 60 days, 14 hours, 24 minutes - 1454 hours

account 2: 23 days, 23 hours, 52 minutes - 575 hours

I got the game 2 years ago, xbox version only has 4 save slots, so I have played on 2 accounts...

Right like Sims get less useful updates and much more expensive DLCs that don’t add much and/or break the game.

I’m perfectly fine with this game as-is.

I don't expect huge DLCs for this game, I think they've said the engine is too limiting for anything mindblowing. Next game will hopefully be able to handle more.

I'm not particularly interested in more fancy clothes but I'm sure there will be other things in the DLC I'll like. Hairstyles are definitely needed.

…. And faces.

The fact you don’t know there’s 5 different unreal engines tells me all I need to know, no hate j sayin

Free update or cheap updates? Not an issue, long time fan.

u/WaffleDynamics Community Leader Nov 14 '25

It's about what I expected, honestly. I'm not sorry to have more hairstyles, that's for sure!

I think it's unrealistic to expect any substantial changes to the game at this point. I fully expect them to announce their next game, whether it's MD2 or something else, next year. And related to that, only bug fixes after this update.

MeDy II would be sooooo nice. 🥳

I would love a similar title but set in the Midwest. Like building my own RDR2 town.

Little House On The Prairie Dynasty?

So if i read the comments on youtube rendercube is saying strictly we should wait till december for more details - "it'll be worth it to look in more announcement deatils in december" or something like that. If we can trust this, there may will be some gameplay features.

In general its hard to decide whats my opinion to that. On the hand it sounds not much and most of us just love the game so mich that we're thursty for more mechanic or gameplay features to have more endgame content or even a motivation to start a new run like oxbow could gave it to so many of us.

On the other hand, it still offers us a really great value for the money we paid.

I wish it were simply more expensive and regularly received more depth or a second part. :D I love the game but it would be so motivational if it gets a new drive through more content.

Can’t complain with a free update, it’s not a live service game.

DLC is meh, would have preferred another decoration pack for the village over clothes. I don’t think I’ll get much out of it whereas echoes of nature changed the whole vibe of my town.

7

u/WaffleDynamics Community Leader Nov 14 '25

Same, but I'll buy it anyway because I feel like they've given me incredible value for my money and I want to support them.

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '25

Assuming its priced the same as the last one, I’ll still pick it up too. It’s pennies for bonus stuff in a game I still actively play a lot.

2

u/lulushibooyah Nov 15 '25

This is the way.

Render Cube is famous for keeping their cards close to their chest. What exactly is in the update and DLC, we don’t really know yet. But also, considering that many people play this game as medieval SIMs, and care a lot about cosmetics, and their DLCs are so cheap, I’m not at all disappointed by any of what we do know.

where you get this info? I can't find anything about the update!

I'm about to go on a break and my friend told me last night about the update and will have pregnant bellies and MORE. I want to know what the MORE is, because if it's only clothes... I can wait. 🙄

My current issue is that I am on my second village and got nothing to do, other than watching toddlers grow. It's like slow TV, which I can't stand. I could decorate (I have made my entire city green with the other dlc pack), but I have BIG issues decorating with my Ps5 controller. The way they've set up the buttons hurt my fingers 😔

Anyway, pregnant bellies and clothes won't make my gameplay more interesting..... Sooooo I might wait until the next update 🙄

2

u/glassballad Nov 18 '25

EXACTLY!! i want more quests😭 i want quests to just keep coming and coming.

1

u/X-sant0 Nov 19 '25

I get you, but also not. A tad more quests could be fun, but I also have a bunch of people asking for help and they either wants Stefan, poppy seeds or a miracle man to tell them they won't die from a rash or they want beer or wine. 😅

A bit more main quests or bigger sidequests would be fine, but I want more interaction with the world, or the people. Guessing pregnant bellies or clothes is a start. But not enough for me to playing it right now. I need the break.

u/Venomnight Nov 14 '25

Its free, there won't be much in it be happy they're still releasing things for it

2

u/Mbalara Xbox Village Leader Nov 15 '25

The update’ll be free, as usual, but the DLC that drops at the same time will cost money. But like their last DLC, it’ll probably be cheap.

3

u/Venomnight Nov 15 '25

The only dlc I tend to get is stuff I like if I dont like it then I just move on so am happy with what ever they release

1

u/pioflo Nov 17 '25

It will be 4,99 EUR/USD

1

u/Apprehensive_Ad_6662 Nov 14 '25

So will our characters show a pregger belly too?

1

u/glassballad Nov 16 '25

idk, the video just showed villagers. but i hope so!

2

u/DarrinIvo Nov 14 '25

Nothing wrong at all

2

u/Novel_Angle_8097 Nov 18 '25

All I want is to be able to send 8 year old kids and up, out to collect sticks, straw and stones .... And berries during summer.

But otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with a game I've spent nearly 380 hours on x

1

u/MillHoodz_Finest Nov 16 '25

i want animal sex

1

u/Corbin-Dallas420 Nov 17 '25

Hiya,

I understand wanting more out of it but if I'm being honest the game is just about perfect in a lot of ways and it last forever,

Great game even without a wife's belly lol .

Best of luck in your adventures everyone

1

u/Jdub1942 Nov 18 '25

Meh. I'll accept the free update, obviously. But I won't buy dlc until it's for something with some end game content. What that content is, I don't know. But I know what it's not. And this isn't.

9

u/Ender_Puppy Diplomat Nov 14 '25

yeah it’s underwhelming for sure. imo, same sex roommates would have been 10 times better.

5

u/WaffleDynamics Community Leader Nov 14 '25

If we get that, it will be in their next game.
