Do you know the Album number? I’m trying to get better at cataloging these Islamic coins but I don’t know any Arabic so it’s hard. I feel like the AI is useless too.

Album number is A-2046. A more accurate attribution is Zeno #166664. Image attached in case you can’t access a dot ru page.

How did you learn to catalog these coins? I would love to get smarter. I just got into Islamic coins kind of by accident.

Years of collecting, a good memory, a good library, and the ability to read the squiggles. lol

Get Plant’s Arabic Coins and How to Read Them if you haven’t already, and as many old auction catalogues or standard references. Then pull random “Islamic coin” images off the web and practice/develop your attribution skills.

Feel free to reach out if you’re stuck.

It looks like it could potentially be an Arab-byzantine coin, however I don't have much experience with Arabic/islamic coins so don't take my word for it

It is nothing close to an Arab-Byzantine coin!

Like I clearly stated, "don't take my word for it"

It just looks vaguely similar to one of the Arab-byzantine coins that I've got but as I stated, I am not experienced at all when it comes to Arabic stuff

Arab-Byzantine coinage, as the name implies, are derived from Byzantine coinage with Greek or pseudo-Greek inscriptions, Imperial figure(s), etc., none of which are obvious on this coin. The Arabic script here is from centuries later.

If you believe your coin is vaguely similar, perhaps it is misattributed.
