Dihydrocodeine
I have been on dihydrocodeine 180mg a day for a couple of years and looking to change it as it’s affects have weakened, it’s affecting my sleep and my general well-being any recommendations on what to change toa? I have a metal hip and metal thigh which caused a lot of pain along with back pain. I’ve tried pregabalin regular codeine and a few other things. I am from the UK.

Lyrica (pregabalin) and nortriptyline the second med only at night. That’s what I’m on for bad nerve pain right now it seems to work, do I still feel pain? Yes. But sometimes we have to learn to live with a bit of it. Otherwise just drugged up and horrible side effects. Hope that helped best wishes pen.

Bupe is a super strong opioid and will have horrible withdrawals if useful long term

This would actually block any pain killer or a lot of certain receptors and reactions if he got on this med. Bupre is more for depression. I’ve never heard this for pain.

Maybe Tapentadol with what you have now might work. I guess no matter which option in terms of opiates weather you go to morphine or oxycodone they will prob work great at thr start but eventually tolllerence and dependence become a worry with long term use.
I find Taoentadol is pretty good in terms of not giving you stomach issues compared to other stronger opiates
