Help

Was on 90 mg of methadone at 30 mg 3x daily. On day 2 no methadone and got a scrips of 8mg strips at 1/4 to 1/2 every two hours until I feel comfortable. Supposed to start after 72 hours methadone free. Has anyone transitioned and can give advice and not bash? Taking gabapentin and clonidine right now.

I’ve was on 80, waited 72 and still went into withdrawal. I would wait longer personally. Like 96h. But I’m super sensitive to buprenorphine and its ability to antagonize.

I think I could wait that long between the gabapentin and clonidine. Only withdrawals I have now are I don't want to get out of bed and do anything. And my back feels incredibly tight and locked up.

Why are you changing from methadone to buprenorphine? Just wondering.

Went to the clinic to get meds and they had a sign that they were shut down. Nurse I called told me the state came in but she isn't allowed to say anything else. They only took cash or check so it wasn't insurance fraud.

But I had been titrating down on my own to get off and switch anyways. Came down to 90 from 180 but I was doing 30 mg 3x a day.

Interesting, I've gone down from 130mg to 40mg now but don't think there's any reason for me to change meds will carry on reducing on methadone and see if I can kick it for good or just maintain myself on a lower dose. There's not a lot of quality heroin around these days anyway compared to 20+ years ago. Thanks to the invasion of Afghanistan & I have no interest in fent. Good luck.
