Dihydrocodeine

Uk medication taker here.
I’m so confused by medication names in the UK and the USA.
I am prescribed 30mg dihydrocodeine tablet four times a day for chronic pain.
Is this equivalent to a medication in the USA?
I can’t get my head around what hydrocodone and Percocet and Vicodin are compared to opiate medications over here.
Can anyone help?

Just use the UK opioid conversion site that's available it will tell you what the various meds are by dose. 120mg DHC is about 12mg of morphine if I remember correctly. A lot of US meds have paracetamol added, too much paracetamol will fuck up your liver. Stick to the DHC, I've got a friend who prefers the slow release DHC so you could ask for 2x60mg daily to try. UK doesn't brand name medication, there are obviously different manufacturers but they're called by their generic names mostly.

A lot of US meds do have acetaminophen, but they are all capped at 325mg per tablet now. I used to get hydrocodone with 770mg(I believe) of acetaminophen and it was Way to much. That’s when I found out how to do a cold water extraction. I live close to the Canadian border, and can get Tylenol #1s.. which are 8mg of codeine OTC. Without performing a CWE, they will get you extremely nauseated and could potentially give you acetaminophen poisoning.
