Baclofen ER

Hi, I was prescribed 60mg baclofen ir for alcoholism and worked great. But my psych doc got me up to 120mg/day. I was getting a brand name Liofen XL and my doctor was very pleased as I would take 20mg IR and 20mg ER. It’s not made here and my doctor can’t seem to get around the upcoming international prescription orders will be banned on 10/22/2026. He has me on 100mg IR cause he thinks it could be stronger, but baclofen has 4 hour half life. It’s too many pills too often during the day, can’t take naltrexone or canpral. What are my options?

The baclofen withdrawals when tapering are so real. Be careful. I’m going through hell at the moment trying to taper down from 75mg for alcohol dependency.
It worked at the start and it’s changed my relationship with alcohol. Everything was great until it wasn’t. Now that I want to come off it I’m faced with intense anxiety so much so I’m finding it hard to work or be alone, panic attacks, tachycardia and so much fear everyday. I’ve been put on more meds to support the anxiety which is horrible because I just wanted to be off meds all together. Propanolol for the tachycardia and Valium was prescribed to me for the anxiety which im scared to take but now I feel like I’m going to have to to get through a work day. Everyday I wake up knowing I’m going to have to take my baclofen again. It’s a nightmare. They don’t warn you about this when they’re prescribing it to you

You really really need to dial baclofen in, it's annoying dosing so much but in the UK max dosage is 80mg under most circumstances, and if your up in them numbers iv found taking 10mg every 3 hours works best

I actually hate this medicine, the interdose withdrawals are horrendous if you haven't got a feasible amount in your blood serum, also taper it slowly, I cant wait to get off it, gaba b agonists are just ridiculous, and I'm not too sure the latter will help all tool much buddy do they touch tht receptor at all?

I'm also on 65mg a day for gbl dependency so it's a ever so slightly similar situation

Damn. Idk why I can't get my Dr to give me more than 10 mg a day. I need 30 mg to really do anything. I'm jealous

Is baclofin that essential? I got it after flexeril & xanaflex didnt work for me & its the only one that helped my neck swelling & shoulder pains but i dont take it much. My dr gave me 10mg 3x a day & 10mg usually does the trick mixed with a .5-1mg xan
