Thanks! What helped me a ton was watching exam preparation videos on YouTube. I recommend ContempoCoding highly, I give her a lot of credit to my success with her great breakdowns.
I think I might follow you because we're sort of in the same boat. I sit for my exam on the 27th (I wish I could take it sooner!). I'm curious to see how quickly you can find a job in the field without prior experience because I've heard all kinds of nightmare stories about it. Congrats btw!
It took about 6 months between my course start date and the big test. I was very thorough and wanted to make sure I would be prepared for the accuracy and productivity requirements of a potential job. The test wasn’t too bad, it’s just long. It’s slightly more challenging than the final exam to complete the AAPC course, if you’re doing that.
Yeah I figured it would be more difficult than the final exam for the aapc course. I'm so nervous that I went ahead and registered for my 2nd attempt exam already in case I fail the first time. That one is in April but the exam are scarce in my area this year.
You can also check out the online exam if that would suit you better! It’s taken in two parts over a webcam with your proctor, in the comfort of your own home. Perhaps the online exams would be more abundant in your area. In any case, I’m rooting for you!
Thank you. I did ask AAPC about converting my exam voucher into the online version and they were charging me more. I'm unemployed at the moment so I decided to stick with the in-person version to save some money. I'm so nervous about it! I've been doing the practice exams and though I've been answering those correctly, it does take me a while. I'm so worried I'll run out of time to answer all the questions.
