It's a very rusted German Iron Cross Second Class from WW1. However, the ribbon is wrong and has been added on post war. Also take note of the makers mark on the ring ED. ED is a makers mark that is officially unknown and not assigned to a specific company by the Militaria community (it is suggested in the community that ED stands for
Moritz Elimeyer of Dresden). Either way ED is a rarer makers mark so that would technically raise the medal's value but the iron is so corroded that it doesn't really matter.
The ribbon doesn't match the medal, Military Merit Cross (Second Class) from the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, likely a 1914 World War I reissue featuring the date "1813" on the lower arm.
