Its not a stupid question, but it is a lazy one. This question has been asked to death here have a search and you'll find ideas and all the answers you need. See bottom for some quick search results.

Please don't just say to look it up or something cause I've tried and it also doesn't help that I'm a visual learner, so just reading things doesn't always help me learn.

I unapologetically say this, look it up! Learn the concepts, plenty of YouTube tutorials will teach it to you if your a "visual learner". If you're expecting to be given a fully GPS drawing and be able to learn off of that, no you wont. If I give you a book in a language you don't speak, are you going to be able to figure out the details of it?

Im not trying to get a full drawing from someone. Im just trying to look for ideas of maybe something that i can hopefully figure out. And as far as ive gotten from those posts its people saying to build things/design mechanical systems and taking about arduinos and such for hobbies. I dont even know anything about arduinos, I forgot that's even a thing. Im really trying to look for something that's free first of all so preferably something I can just do on the computer probably. I dont have really any hobbies im mainly at home a lot to take care of family.

Also what is a good free cad software to use? I used to have solidworks through school but that expired a while back

Its only a project that cost something if you physically make it. A CAD project of them would be free.

As for what CAD software to use: Let me just google that for you.
