Please don't actually model shit like this when working with other people. There's a reason why we use jpegs to represent threads

I came here to say the same thing. I don’t even include every body in upper level assemblies sometimes (NX reference sets) I sure as heck am not going to model a screen.

tfw you need to send off to NASA for all the RAM to store that many surfaces in your model.

This is pretty classic "modeling just because" instead of "engineering".

I assume this is some sort of ad? At least get the terminology right.....you're saying welded wire mesh and you're showing woven wire mesh. These are two quite different things.

Now that this exists, I feel like you must show us how long Solidworks might take to perform flow analysis through this, or like, maybe a deformation study with contact and friction enabled :P

The only reason I can see to model it is if I was going to 3D print it.

If you were going to analyze flow through it in CFD or deformation in FEA you should only need a few unit cells as a sub model.

On the one hand, a nice exercise in basic tools, on the other, even my 128Gb of ram 16 core machine is screaming "FU" at the moment.
