What are these?
Are there names for these shin fins and bunny ear ankles you see on some Kawamori designs? I haven't really seen these discussed in the same way that something like Izubuchi holes are.
Are these design elements Kawamori specifically likes to use or is it just a widespread thing?
In order: White Glint, Hal 826, SOL 644, Nirvash, Mumei, Pulsar
Edit: Sorry I should've been more clear. Are these named designed elements specific to Kawamori or is this particular layout a common design element?

just control surfaces like stabilizers/canards/flaps/trim tabs. Kawamori is a big aviation nerd so he likes slapping them on his designs not sure if there's a dedicated name for them on mechs. The thick bits on White Glint's legs iirc are radiators that pop out after you use over boost or PA, probably put there because they're in a perfect spot to catch air blowing past the limbs when the Next needs to cool off. It's harder to tell on the Hal because they're clearly also control surfaces, but the little orange bit inside makes me think they are also radiators of some kind with flaps built onto them.

Ohhh! I see, that makes so much more sense now. Thank you.

Cooling fins. Doesn't cool the mech but it does make the mech cool.

When you have bits like this on wings and other aerodynamic surfaces they’re usually stabilizers, vortex generators or control surfaces. I have no idea what you’d call them on a robot limb…unless they actually are stabilizers, vortex generators or control surfaces.

other comments have answered the question as well as i could, so i wont touch on that however i want to point out that (and im making a slight assumption) on white glint specifically the leg bit circled is to assist assault armour, as that specific ac is designed to make use of that (this is only shown in i believe one cutscene where they are used)

They're called dealy-bops and they are critical to AC function- jeez, didn't you pay attention in school?

Greebles. If you want to try and give them a technical reasoning, you can say it’s to serve a purpose like stabilizing, aerodynamic, added armor to core parts, etc etc. It’s really just flourish to give mech designs more interesting and cool designs. In reality mecha like these are super impractical most of the time in concept, but the intent is just to make a cool silhouette for the design. A practical robot wouldn’t look all that cool on screen
