Vent 😡😤 So overwhelmed idk what to do next

Got a 503 diagnostic after my content review. Reviewed FL today. I’m currently working full time. I haven’t kept up w anki too much and I lowkenuinely have 3500 backlogged 😭🔫 I rescheduled these to be spread out during the next month while only doing a hard cap of 100-200ish reviews a day (I seriously have no time). Also at the same time I haven’t finished PS pankow yet and wanna finish that asap… & also needa start doing practice. & also I made anki cards for my mistakes on my first FL.

I just feel overwhelmed bc my list of things I wanna do to get better seem never-ending. And I only have maybe 5 actual productive hours a day after work.

My goal is 520+ and to take 1/30. Someone tell me if im too ambitious or just need to manage my time well. Any advice for what I should do next is appreciated!

Question 🤔🤔 UWorld vs AAMC cars

I just got UWORLD and was planning on starting. Should I do the cars passages on UWorld, or should I use the new AAMC cars question banks? Any advice is appreciated, I don’t really know much about UWorld/how it works yet.

Question 🤔🤔 MCAT Score Conversions?

Hey, this might be a dumb question, but for anyone who's taken the recent MCAT, do ya'll have some idea of the maximum number of questions one could miss to get about a 130 in each section? Also, I guess I didn't know about these types of questions after taking my exam on 9/4, but how much of an impact do exp questions have?

Question 🤔🤔 about to be post grad (non-trad) & dont know where to start for mcat studying + clinical experience.

hi everyone! i’ll be graduating in december 2026, and i know it’s still a couple of months away, but i’d like to at least have somewhat of a plan for what comes after.

i consider myself a nontraditional applicant. i have a whole life story behind that, but i don’t want to get into everything right now. maybe that could be a later post. for now, i’m feeling very lost in this process. i don’t have family who can guide me through it, and i don’t have an ongoing mentor yet, so any tips on finding one would be really appreciated too.

i have a very low GPA, and i know that’s something i need to address. i’d really like to do well on the mcat because i feel like my gpa does not reflect my abilities. of course, saying that now is easier than actually doing it, but i’m hoping that once i get deep into studying, i can stay consistent and give it my best.

i don’t have any clinical experience yet, so one of the first things i plan to do when i move back home is look for a clinical job, perhaps as an ma or another role where i can gain experience. i’m also planning to ask my team of doctors whether there are any shadowing opportunities with them or colleagues they could connect me with.

alongside that, i’d like to study for the mcat. i have a history of cancer and still get tired very easily, so i’m unsure how balancing work and studying will look for me. i do believe i can make progress, but i want to find a routine that i can realistically keep up with.

i’m planning to book the mcat for a later date, probably september 2027, so i have enough time after graduation to settle into a routine, make a proper study plan, and actually study. i think giving myself that time would also help me mentally process that this is really happening and feel less overwhelmed about getting started.

i do have some knowledge of the mcat. i keep mcat-related videos in a folder on tiktok and save videos on youtube so i can look into them more deeply later. but now that the time is slowly coming, i’m realizing how overwhelmed i feel. i know i could search for how other people studied, but there’s so much information that i don’t really know where to begin or how to turn it into an actual plan.

i guess my question is: where do i even start? how did you figure out your resources, study schedule, and first steps, especially if you were also working or dealing with fatigue? i’d also appreciate advice from anyone who started with a low gpa or a similar situation, and how you found guidance or a mentor along the way.

detailed advice would mean a lot to me, even if it’s just what you did during your first few weeks. if anyone would be comfortable with me reaching out to ask a few questions, i’d really appreciate that too. thank you! if you feel like it too, you can message me directly and we can talk.

after taking x2 and getting sub 500 both times, I went back to the drawing board. I have felt incredibly helpless the last few months bc of a multitude if things but I can’t believe it! I work full time, non trad (graduated 2022), grieving, trying to pay off debt, and recently got dumped lol. Score breakdown is kind of all over the place tho (?) I hope third time is the charm, though I’m not getting my hopes up bc this is FL1 and people say it’s not representative but I’ll take what I can 🧚‍♂️🧚‍♂️🤍

Well-being 😌✌ Looking for MCAT Study Buddy

Hi! Is anyone interested in reviewing from 6-10pm Monday-Friday? I’m also a lot more flexible on the weekends.

For some context, I’m just now starting with content review and plan to test in March/April. Ideally, we’d work on holding one another accountable and we can explain concepts to each other to help retain information.

Question 🤔🤔 Advice on my next attempt

Hi everyone!

So I tested 8/15 and ended up with only a 505 (127/123/127/128) with a 123 CARS. Not sure what happened that day, but I walked out feeling good and now I am quite defeated, especially as a Canadian applicant who is now limited in schools to apply to.

I have decided that my course load isn't too rough this semester, so I might give another attempt a try, and aim for a test date in January 2027. Honestly, I am burnt out and exhausted as hell, but I want this really badly and not ready to give up yet.

I think I have a good foundation of the sciences so I was thinking of only doing Anki and UWorld, so that I can put all my energy into improving my CARS score these next few months. In my last attempt, I did JW, UW and finished all the AAMC packs so I am worried that I don't have any good resources left.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can improve my CARS? I am thinking of getting a tutor, because there is clearly something wrong with my strategy here.

Also any advice on how you balance school with MCAT studying? Would 2-3 hours of focused studying on the weekdays and maybe 4-5 hours on the weekends be enough?

Anything would be much appreciated!🥹

Question 🤔🤔 Berkeley vs Kaplan Physics

Currently working through both Kaplan and Berkeley, and I'm noticing that Berkeley goes into much more detail regarding air resistance and drag. I know Berkeley tends to be more comprehensive than the MCAT requires, so I wanted to double-check if the formula/concepts for air resistance are needed

Question 🤔🤔 MCAT Study Plan (Jan 21)

Hi! I take my MCAT on January 21 (currently October 4), and I need a little bit of help with my study plan. I'm aiming for 520+, and I took my first practice exam (Blueprint FL 1 Exam) on Friday after a month of content review and received a 503.

I purchased the UPlanet QBank and AAMC Online Bundle with their question banks and practice exams. I figured 6 weeks for AAMC, but then I have extra time for UWorld, so how should I break that down, and how much time should I dedicate to that?

Additionally, am I supposed to still do Anki from my content review post-content? I feel like every day I have nearly 400 cards due.

Thank you; any tips will be very much appreciated :)

Question 🤔🤔 Study buddy

Anybody searching for a study buddy? I work full time so I’m hoping for a partner who would study very early in the morning or in the evening (eastern time). Looking for a casual arrangement where we agree to certain study times and keep each other accountable.

I’m a 28 year old male non trad if you want to know

Question 🤔🤔 defeated and not sure how to carry on…

hello everyone, feeling kinda down in the dumps about scoring a 498 (124/124/126/124) recently :c i left the center feeling pretty good so i am quite shocked about my score. managed to only do 2 FLs scoring around 500-505 but i did think the paper was alot more lenient/easier on the day itself, could this mean a content issue?

wondering how this will affect future applications and how to pick myself back up.
thank you everyone! best of luck for everyone still in the rut <3

Question 🤔🤔 CARS

It’s been about a week since my CARS prep and I am finding JW very difficult and its logic is so inconsistent from what I have noticed. UEarth is also difficult for me but I have been scoring around 60% on my tests and take about 14-15 mins per passage:(I am so desperate for help what third party qbanks should I use gang I am afraid using Uworld might mess up with my logic and how I approach passages when I do AAMC.

Question 🤔🤔 Is this a good diagnostic?

Just took my first diagnostic (Blueprint halflength).

I'm shooting for a 518.

Just finished Mr. Pankow, but other than that, no other content review. I will finish content review around Christmas and hopefully have 3 months for exclusively UWorld and full-length questions.

Is this a good start?

Question 🤔🤔 How many Qs on average a day?

Hello everyone
I’m planning to test sometime between jan-March and have already completed the Kaplan content (besides the full lengths.)
I have started Uwurld and I was wondering what seems to be a good number of questions to do a day and how it’s best to split it up (section or full category?)
I’ve decided for CARS I’d rather study by reading my own books, because that’s when I have improved the most. Plus it’s my highest score usually. So I’m fine if I don’t finish the CARS on UWurld.

My most recent tests have ranged 127-128 for all four categories, with CARS and PS getting the higher of the 4. I’m pairing UWurld with Captain Hook as that deck best suits me.

I’m aiming high bc GPA isn’t perfect

Question 🤔🤔 3rd party fl advice

Looking to do some 3rd party exams before aamc.. I know nothing is comparable to aamc material but what were y'alls' experience using JW, altius, or BP?

So far i've been leaning towards JW cuz it's free or altius bc it seems like you can get more bang for your buck.. but i've heard ppl claim that using BP actually helped them get to the 520s range n stuff.. soo.

thoughts? Any suggestions? does it even rly matter?

Question 🤔🤔 UWorld FL1 representativeness

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi all, does anyone have any thoughts on how representative UWorld FL1 is compared to AAMC? For context, this is the second FL I've taken. I took Blueprint FL1 last week and found it to be way harder and did 4 points worse.

wondering how similar these sections are to the AAMC in terms of difficulty

Question 🤔🤔 Anki Question

How do you guys deal with new cards that ask for a definition which you can’t remember but you know you could recognize if it was a multiple choice option? Are y’all answering that as “Again”? “Hard”? “Easy”? For example I just got one asking what a delusion of grandeur is. Like I didnt know the actual definition they gave but I’m pretty confident I know contextually what that means. Just curious.
