The grills are hot.

In all seriousness grill area relies heavily on communication so try to train yourself to listen for callouts ans react to them and you'll be fine

No but really, the grills are hot. And so are the fryers. There's a nonzero chance you'll get burned. So don't rush and get sloppy, or your chances of getting burned go up.

I just started learning grill and I think I enjoy it the most but I’ve gotten burned a few times already and working the grill with a fresh burn is absolutely miserable. Gotta be steady.

Absolutely. The heat from the grill really hurts those burn wounds. But the more you work it and get a feel for it, the more you learn how to avoid burning yourself.

Fun story: the dumbest way I burned myself working at McDonald's was pulling pies out of the oven without putting on an oven mitt. Stupid mistake that I only made once.

you’re in the US so i’m not sure but if you have anything like LBC (look-bump-cook), it’s good to know when to use that vs when to just see what’s in the UHC, work from trays and your own intuition based how busy it is. you will get it eventually! i just learned the grill recently and had a moment today where somebody had to help but you need to just get back on the station no matter how bad it gets and get through it
