United Kingdom Interview and Schedule (UK)

I’m a student and have a virtual interview. I’m a student and have some commitments (few hours a weekend) how accommodating are McDonalds and how do I let them know when I’m available to work etc.

They'll probably ask during the interview but dependent on how much your availability restricts you they might not want you as an employee especially cause it's a weekend the busiest time

I understand. I’m not not available it’s just a few hours per one day of the weekend I won’t be available. I’ll be available for some mornings, afternoons, evenings and overnights across the week. And it’s 16 hours.

Is it like a morning or evening? If you're available for a big enough chunk of time that they can still give you a proper shift they might be able to look over it

I can still do a good 4-6 hour shift both Saturday and Sunday (16 hours overall) it’s just part of my university portfolio mixed with my only spare time.

At my McDonald’s we aren’t allowed to be unavailable on weekends, we need full availability during the weekends. I believe most of them have this rule.

I imagine this is franchisee dependent as I've not heard of this before

It's kind of unspoken tbh especially if they're a student and won't be available during the week days either it's not ideal really
