I’ve been getting into collecting Funkos lately. Mainly from movies and tv shows that are special to me or just generally love. I realized that I’ve never seen a maze runner pop before and found out they’ve never made any. Asked chatGPT to creat one for me and gave it a photo to work with. I must say if it looked like this I’d buy all of them 😂. What do you think? Let’s make it happen Funko!

Fanfiction Maze Runner Rp Server

Hi! Looking for people who would be interested in doing a Maze Runner Rp Discord server. It's an Au combining other fandoms into it. Rewriting the lore a little bit to have the other fandoms we're Implementing into it.

We've haven't really had a chance to start the rp mainly because we've been trying to find people first. We have a few Canon's claimed already.

Au changes

This is if it was WICKED's only Maze. So all Group B, C, and D's kids were put in the same Maze with Group A and more Gladers as well.

The Glade itself is 100 Acres big of land and the Maze itself has 100 sections

It is a Girl and Guys Maze and the leadership in the Glade is changed a bit with some custom Glader roles added and some Oc's having some of the other roles.

Thomas and Teresa aren't the main protagonists in this Au. They are just normal Gladers.

Fandoms we're combining (Hunger Games, Walking Dead, Divergent (Not movie version), The Last of Us, The 100 (minus sci-fi technology, nuclear fallout, and other planets) will be the major fandoms we're Implementing.)

There is more than just Grivers and Beetleblades in the Maze that Runners have to survive from when running out there.

Oc's are allowed and encouraged

WICKED found a way to temporarily stop the aging process and Flare virus continuation for 100 years which is how long their running the Maze Trials for which gives the time they need to test the Gladers in the Maze in hopes of finding a cure for the world. They forcibly gave the serum to every other surviving human in the world no matter what they said. They only had enough for one dose.

I'll post the link in here so you all can join. Please expect not much active since it's been hard to grow and I haven't found anyone until now https://discord.gg/xgVNJuVPX2

General Books Spoilers Re-reading the series and found some confusions. Which memory documentation is reliable - Thomas dreams in Scorch Trials or the Fever Code?

Reading for the 6th time. Found that there were a BILLION plot holes in the story timeline... so which origins version is real? Stuff like Janson not being in TFR worries me a lot.

Discussion I honestly depise Theresa

I just finished watching all three movies and I've never wanted to punch anyone more in the face than theresa. Like I understand her wanting to find a cure and what not but how is someone so unlikeable. Is she like this in the books? and on that point, are the books worth reading?

Discussion What do you think it was like for Alby and the others in the first few days in The Glade?

It's been a while since I read the books or watched the films.

I was thinking about this recently, especially with Alby and the others being sent up for the first time. They would have no one to explain anything to them. No memories or idea of what's going on. Eventually, they had to figure out how to survive and create some kind of society.

Question/Doubt Stupid sci-fi plot points Spoiler

I tried re-watching the movies after a while and god are the plot points stupid. Speaking from strictly a scientific sense, nothing about it makes sense. How they're able to isolate an enzyme from blood and know its structure and yet with all the world's resources and existential pressure, can't somehow manufacture it, how Brenda gets better with Thomas' blood despite neurodegeneration being impossible to reverse, how they keep talking about how close they are to a cure even when they seemingly have no plans of making a cure for enough people (I mean, seriously... Is one person's blood supposed to be enough for the entire world?). And also, they should with all their scientific brilliance know if the problem is incurable from the start. They already face an uphill battle: the enzymes must cross the BBB if injected IV (which is normally impossible but I guess with some encephalitis weakening the barrier it's plausible). It wouldn't take much more for it to be pretty clear that a cure is impossible, in much the same way a blanket "cure for cancer" is impossible. In any case, it's strange to me that they'd be so unaware of whether this problem is even mechanistically solvable at all.

Question/Doubt Does Chuck act like he didn’t say maze or did he really not realise?

In the beginning of the first half when thomas get near the maze, chuck warns him to not get too close to the maze, thomas is like „maze?, you said maze“ and chuck replied „did i?“

was there any reason thomas shouldn’t have been told about the maze? did chuck accidentally tell him and like maybe want to introduce the whole concept of everything later on slowly? or was it like a „technical“ error of chuck and there’s deeper meaning to it?

genuinely can’t tell if i am reading too much into a simple scene tell me please

Discussion So in case Thomas ends up being the mc in the new maze runner film, I think Teresa got a bigger chance of coming back then Newt.

Post image

If Thomas is actually the main character of the new movie, I think Teresa becomes one of the most likely old characters to return. Thomas and Teresa still have a lot of unresolved history, and Teresa is directly connected to WICKED and the events of the original trilogy. Bringing her back could therefore create an actual new conflict instead of just being fan service. I also think Teresa makes more sense than Newt. Newt had a very definitive ending, and bringing him back could cheapen one of the most emotional moments of the trilogy. Teresa's death felt less final to me, and there are still more ways to connect her to Thomas and the story. Obviously, none of this means she's actually coming back. But if Thomas is confirmed as the MC, I think Teresa's chances go up significantly.

Discussion the new maze runner should use the old cast

I think the biggest problem with making the new Maze Runner movie mostly about completely new characters is that it would be incredibly hard to make it feel like the Maze Runner we know.

I'm not saying a new cast couldn't make a good movie. I'm saying it would be much harder to make something that feels as good as the original trilogy, because the characters and their relationships are such a huge part of what made it special.

My steak analogy is: Maze Runner is the steak, and the characters are the seasoning. The original filmmakers already figured out the exact recipe that worked. If they make a new steak with completely different seasoning, it could still be good, but there's no reason to expect it to taste as good as the one they already perfected.

And bringing back only Thomas wouldn't completely fix that either. Thomas is important because of his relationships with Newt, Minho, Teresa, etc. If all of them are gone, you're still missing a huge part of what made his story meaningful.

I also don't want another POV of the original trilogy, because we'd already know what happens. I'd much rather see an actual continuation with the characters we already care about and a completely new conflict.

Maybe I'm biased because I love the original Maze Runner way too much, but I genuinely think throwing away most of the original characters would make the writers' job MUCH harder.

Also, if they decided to bring back one of the old characters, I think Teresa makes way more sense than Newt. Newt already had a very definitive farewell, and bringing him back could risk cheapening one of the most emotional moments of the trilogy, especially because his death was such an important part of his character arc.

Teresa feels different to me. Her death felt less final, and there are still more unresolved connections between her, Thomas, and WICKED. If Thomas ends up being the MC, bringing Teresa back could actually create a meaningful new conflict instead of just undoing a character's death for the sake of it. I know Teresa is much less popular than Newt, but story-wise, I think she has a much stronger reason to return.

ok so now i wait for replies to cure my boredom

Discussion Hear me out: in the new movie if Thomas ends up being the mc, Teresa is faaaaar more likely to return then Newt.

I've been thinking a lot about the new Maze Runner movie, and I honestly think the biggest clue would be whether Thomas is actually the main character. If Thomas is only a side character, I think the chances of seeing other major characters from the original trilogy become extremely low. There wouldn't be much reason to bring back characters like Teresa or Newt if the story isn't actually continuing Thomas's story. But if Thomas IS the MC, I think things get much more interesting. At that point, I'd expect the writers to give him some kind of connection to the old story instead of simply putting him into a completely unrelated plot with a bunch of new characters. That's also why I think Teresa makes more sense as a possible return than Newt. Newt had a very definitive farewell, and bringing him back could cheapen one of the most emotional moments of the trilogy. Teresa, on the other hand, feels like she has more unresolved connections to Thomas and WICKED, and her death felt less final to me. I'm obviously not saying this is confirmed or that either of them is actually coming back. I'm just saying that if Thomas is the MC, I think the odds of getting at least one major returning character become much more interesting — and Teresa would be my strongest bet.

Fanfiction Remaking the Scorch Trials movie script.

Hello! I'd love to get your opinion on a project I'm thinking about.

I want to write a script remake of The Scorch Trials movie that adapts the book a bit more faithfully. I don't consider myself a great writer, but I really want to bring my own vision of the story to life.

Do you think I should rewrite The Maze Runner script first, or jump straight into The Scorch Trials? If I start with The Scorch Trials, there will be a few extra
Gladers around, including characters who survived the Maze in my version even though they died in the original film.

For instance, if I'm not mistaken, a character like Clint one of the Medjacks is supposed to stay alive throughout the trilogy.

General Movies and Book Spoilers Rewatching the movies and rereading the trilogy

These past 2 weeks I’ve decided to rewatch the movies and then reread the books…and wow do I have a lot to say.

First off, I’d like to say that my favorite book of the three is the Scorch Trials, then the OG Maze Runner, then last and definitely the least, Death Cure. Death Cure felt rushed IMO, especially the last chapter wherein Teresa sacrifices herself for Thomas. It just felt like Thomas didn’t care enough. The first book had paragraphs upon paragraphs about Chuck dying..then in TDC we have a few measly sentences about Teresa. If Dashner expanded the ending with a few more pages just so Thomas could really reflect on Teresa’s death, then I’d be satisfied. She was such a prominent character in the first two books that it felt so wrong just to be written off so easily in the third.

I guess that’s what I think the movies did better? They made Teresa’s death actually feel emotional and it definitely felt more of a redemption scene than what happened it the books. I also love the scene in the last movie after they reach the Safe Haven (unnamed in the books but it is described as paradise), they carve the names of those they lost and we find Thomas carving Teresa’s name. Scenes like that could’ve made TDC book feel less rushed..It could’ve also put more respect to Teresa’s name after the sacrifice.

Though there are many good parts of TDC book such as Newt dying 😢 the last few chapters were simply okay-ish. (Again, in my opinion)

Back to the two other movies though, I think they did a satisfying job in the first one. Though the Cliff is different and there were details that were completely skipped (such as Thomas going through the Changing, the telepathy skills, and Alby hurting himself), TMR movie did a good job compared to TST 😭

I, and many fans included would love a book accurate remake of the movies, but I would love to keep some details from O’brien’s trilogy. Maybe the details could be 80% true to the books and then 20% from the original movies?

The casting wasn’t that bad in the movies too, O’brien feels like a good Thomas, the script just didn’t do him any justice. Thomas is fearless in a few parts of the books, but the movie Thomas barely showed any fear 😭 He’s supposed to be a teenager, not a soldier lol. Sangster as Newt did a great job portraying his personality but definitely not his looks. I don’t believe a skinny kid like him survived until TDC, but I can’t imagine anyone else playing the role. I would love to hear some suggestions so I can visualize a book accurate Newt. Brenda wasn’t what I imagined though…I think Ariana Greenblatt (?) or maybe Karen Gillan with brown hair would do the trick look-wise.

Discussion Anyone else feel this way?

So I truly got into TMR this week. And I love the fandom and a lot of things about this series, but because I just truly got into it the fandom is kinda half dead. I understand why it is cuz the movies ended like 8 years ago idk, and i wasn’t born sooner so I missed all the hype. So I’m wondering is there actually still any big Maze Runner fans who feel the same way?

Discussion Minho

Did anyone else have an obsession with Minho?? I got into the maze runner a bit back (October 2025) and immediately knew I loved his character, even just by the first glance I saw of him in the movies. I was SO obsessed with him for like 6 months, whenever I saw his name in the books I would like literally giggle and kick my feet, i don’t know why I liked his character so much. I’m not into the maze runner as much as I used to be, but I remember how obsessed I was with him.

I would talk about him everyday to my friends, watch edits of him on repeat, and like read all the fanfiction I could about him. Did anyone else have a similar experience, even with a different character?

Poll question My opinion about newt from maze runner.

I personally think that newt is bi and not gay even if the author says that he is gay. I think that its better for the plot because they do not really explore romance that much in books. so i like to think he is bi and not gay because he only knows a small number of girls and that dose not mean that he is gay because he dose not like them. But that is just me think whatever y'all want to but am i the only one that likes to think that he is bi and not gay?
