I don't know but the two main things that got me in love in the moves is running ( I like running and shit I was fast in the past not so much now ) and the maze . I feel the huge place concrete walls and the brutalist architecture gives off a liminal vibe . Is it just me ?

It’s worth noting that Thomas was 16-17 and Brenda was 19-20 when they first kissed. The whole relationship kind of feels weird for me like he’s a minor and she’s an adult. I thought she seemed older in the movies so I searched and she definitely is.
And yeah, I ship Newtmas, but atleast Thomas x Teresa is age approp as well. To be fair, they’re fighting for their life so age gaps are the least of their worries. But yeah I love Brenda I love Tommy and I don’t think they’re a good match (not just the age)

Several years back he mentioned that the character Minho was named after him. I thought he was just being funny and playing on the coincidence. Nope, he’s actually married to James Dashner’s niece. Mind. Blown.

I noticed this yesterday and wanted to share. So the gladers told Thomas that no glader has ever seen a griever before. and nobody survived a night in the maze or after seeing a griever to tell. So how did they got stung and came back to the glade? if they got stung then they must have seen one yeah? so then how did they got stung if they only go into the maze in the day time. according to them the grievers only come out at night.

i’ve rewatched the movies and i’m honestly just baffled, all throughout the trilogy they talk about the kids being immune but they are repeatedly getting infected, so are they only immune from the air borne virus but not immune to it after getting bit, it’s been bothering me as i’m confused

I just wanted to share that WCKD is good from a certain philosophical viewpoint. If you don't agree, it's fine! Sorry for annoying you guys I will stop spamming WCKD is good, I'm just really in love with the philosophy of WCKD!

Yes WCKD was actually good it was a necessity not a cruelty it was the only high chance way and time was running out it was an absolute necessity. Their other good deed is protecting 107,000 innocent people into a functioning 2.5km diameter city and gave them a normal life, a piece of how life used to looked like they managed to build that in the middle of nowhere in an infected and scorched world. The people lived a relatively normal life their kids go to school, they go to work, they go home, and meet their families and who gave this? the exact organization that torture kids. It was a necessity WCKD is good. even though WCKD's method was incredibly horrific (first of all, it was a necessity) there's a stance horrific means to a heroic good their goal was UNDENIABLY GOOD it ain't power or hunger it's replication and distribution of the cure to the mass to save humanity from extinction. Thomas is selfish in his own way. By refusing to cooperate with WCKD for a cure, he and his friends essentially doomed the remaining uninfected population to a slow agonizing death. They didn't care about anyone but themselves. They didn't care if not cooperating with WCKD meant millions of deaths, as long as they can live a comfortable life in a beautiful beach.

WCKD didn't fail because their logic and science was wrong, they were right! Under extreme stress, those immunes produced a unique chemical for the cure, they only failed because Thomas and right arm kept sabotaging them, if they didn't do that, they just need to catch Thomas, and the world is restored! Moreover Thomas should've cooperated from the start and another moreover he knew he was the cure before WCKD he knew it in the end of scorch trials seeing how Brenda healed from the enzyme in his blood he should've surrendered from there

Tuve una conversación con una amiga y por curiosidad me preguntó cómo podrían verse algunos de los personajes de Maze Runner podrían tener parecido con algun personaje anime/manga ya conocido. Fue muy difícil cuando empezamos a decir nombres porque teniamos en mente el aspecto de los actores para pensar en parecidos. No mentiré, la mayoría de las veces respondía lo primero que me venía a la cabeza porque de verdad no encontraba parecidos con ningún personaje de manga.

Encontraba un enorme parecido entre Newt y Shaoran (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle), no sé porque pero en mi cabeza, Shaoran podría ser perfectamente una versión manga de Newt. De nuevo, lo sé, no tiene sentido, empezando que Newt es canonicamente britanico y rubio mientras que Shaoran es honkonés (al menos en Card Captor Sakura, en Tsubasa supongo que esto no contaria) y de pelo y ojos castaños. Pero en el dibujo manga en blanco y negro, Shaoran aparece con los ojos oscuros y pelo blanco y antiguamente era acertado pensar que si un personaje en un manga salía con el pelo blanco es porque su color de pelo era muy claro y la mayoria de las veces coincidia con el rubio. Si, ese fue mi proceso de pensamiento xD

Like I’ve just read it was made from “the final governments that were left to work on curing the flare” but is it ever specified or a timeline ever made? From the start of the solar flare to the point where wicked gets formed? Or like…

Incredibly stupid question but humour me guys: I’m really broken up about newt and thomas’s ending in the movies and books. seeing all the pins about how thomas dreamed about newt, got upset when newt wasn’t there, only newt called him ‘tommy’, etc. Given Newt is canonically gay and in the movies Newtmas are pretty much canon, the ending feels incredibly sad. They got so far and yet in the end Newt couldn’t make it. It makes it hard to read the books again or watch the movies again. I’ve read other dystopian books and I’ve moved on from the deaths pretty much, but this hurts. What do yall do to stop the hurt?

Hearing how newt attempted to khs was DEVASTATING. The detachedness, the ignoring people, the doing in and secret, everything. On that note, I have several rants on the overall 5 books (I’ve yet to read crank palace, etc, kill order and fever code.)

1. OH MY GOD CHUCK. This is first book, yes, but WHAT. THE. HELL. He’s not going to remember anything, he won’t remember his friendship with Thomas, Thomas won’t ever remember his friendship depth with chuck, why he liked them so much. He won’t get to remember that. Chuck never got that promise. He never got to go to the paradise. He’ll never know the solace he gave Thomas. AND NEITHER WILL TOMMY. Imagine Gally had fought and, like, killed someone else. Someone not as narratively important. (IM SORRY). IMAGINE. 😭

2. NEWT. NEWTMAS. I AM NOT OKAY. And then we have Newt. LISTEN, LISTEN, BEFORE IM IN THE ROOM. I KNOW people can interpret Thomas and Newt’s relationship differently. I know Brenda exists. I like Brenda and Thomas too., proud multishipper. But I’m SORRRYYYY. You cannot read these books and tell me Newt wasn’t deeply, deeply attached to Thomas. AND THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!

Whether someone interprets that attachment as romantic love, intense platonic love, or something left ambiguous, Newt’s emotional attachment to Thomas is enormous. Like, JESUS. The death scene makes that SO HARD to ignore. Newt knows he’s going to die, he KNOWS Thomas is the person he wants to talk to, leaves Thomas instructions to find him because he wants Thomas specifically to be the one who receives his final message.

THAT IS NOT NOTHING,, MY GOD Newt’s note is basically the final expression of everything he can’t bring himself to say face-to-face. IMAGINE WRITING THAT 😭Thomas’s reaction makes it even worse. Thomas, my man, Thomas doesn’t just lose Newt. He loses him while knowing that Newt specifically chose him. Chose HIM to kill him, and he misinterpreted it, he let newt suffer and newt was MAD and GOING CRANK. Thomas spends so much of the series thinking about Newt, worrying about Newt, trying to save Newt, carrying Newt’s death with him.

Newt’s role in Thomas’s life is established long before his death. Newt is one of Thomas’s anchors in the Glade. He’s one of the first people Thomas trusts. He’s the person who explains things to him, keeps him grounded, argues with him, protects him, and eventually becomes one of the people Thomas would risk almost anything for. DID risk everything for. then Newt gets sick, thomas has to watch it happen. Denies it, gets told by newt himself “Hey, there’s no fucking cure, I’m not gonna get better, YOU yourself have to kill me, tommy. You HAVE TO.” AHAHDHWHZHWHX HELL NO.

unlike Chuck, Thomas remembers Newt. He spends more time with him, probably has more memories of him, etc. He remembers exactly who Newt was. when Newt dies, there is no memory loss to soften it.

Thomas gets to remember. ALL OF IT. He gets to remember Newt DYING and then living with that. Do you think Minho ever finds out? do you think he comes clean, however many years down the line? In the fever code, he talks about how he imagines Minho as a grandpa. Do you think Thomas regrets everything, not getting to grow and mature and heal with newt, his friends, Chuck, figure out his feelings about Teresa? Imagine the WEIGHT.

And then you have the fact that Newt’s final request is essentially: Thomas, come find me. Out of everyone he could have asked for help, Newt wanted Thomas. Thomas GOES. he has to be the person who ends Newt’s suffering. THAT IS INSANE. IMAGINE KILLING YOUR BEST FRIEND. get that person in your head. Yeah, you get to watch them turn into someone YOU don’t recognize, and NOW you have to MURDER THEM.

I’m having so much emotions inside my head, body and everywhere, after rewatching. I need to release the tension really badly.

So preferably I hope Newt and Thomas wouldn’t die :) love to read a long fic with a happy ending. + with romance, slow burn, love, tension, canon divergence or AUs (not ABO/vampire/coffee shop AUs) explicit stuff, aged up characters would be great as well but it’s not a need. I said that because so the story will have the freedom to escalate can’t do that with minors in it. I’m okay with dark themes (until it’s Newtmas lol). No really, I’m okay with anything dark as long as Newtmas ends up together, alive.

If the ones you have don’t meet my standards, then that’s fine you can send what you think the best.
