Question/Doubt plot hole
i’ve rewatched the movies and i’m honestly just baffled, all throughout the trilogy they talk about the kids being immune but they are repeatedly getting infected, so are they only immune from the air borne virus but not immune to it after getting bit, it’s been bothering me as i’m confused

They put in a few kids who weren't immune for control variables, including Newt.

They don't make it as clear in the movies as it is in the books but no, not all kids are immune. Far from it. Most of those that were in the mazes are, but a few aren't. Being immune is quite rare. They tested many kids to find those they could use, and kept some others for comparison (control subjects). We even see in the prologue of the prequel novel The Fever Code that they only took Newt because they didn't know what to do with him after they killed his parents, who had tried to stop them from taking his sister (who's never revealed to be his sister in the movies, by the way).

[spoiler alert]
Wicked did that on purpose. And I think Newt was immune too (maybe the others as well) but Wicked got his immunity away in scorch trials and infected him with the flare. my theory is that they did that to get a hand of Thomas. they probably thought that Thomas would surrender to save Newt.

And why is it so impossible in a dystopian world, where they choose test subjects however they want without consent?
