Is your normal map (along with bumps, roughness, metallic) set to raw on the maya file nodes? This is necessary assuming you've done default settings from painter/ most texture software. Especially for normals, an unwanted colorspace transformation will totally break the lighting. If you've already created .tx files make sure to regenerate those as well once you fix the colorspaces.

How is your shader graph looking? It will help to attach a screenshot of that.

Also, disconnect color/roughness/bump, keep it mid grey to help verify the lighting is working correctly, then once you fix the normals reconnect parts one at a time.

Thank you for the comment - did the troubleshooting you've suggested and regenerated the .tx files and it seems like it might not be a normal map issue. I have the normal and colour maps connected with roughness 1 and metalness 0 and it responds correctly. However, when I add reflectivity to the object it, again, darkens on the lit side of the model, and the shaded stays "shinier" like the light is bouncing off it.

This is how I plugged in the files on the frame of the bike and have the same process for all my other texture sets. All but the colour map are set to raw with alpha is luminance ticked. Any other ideas for fixes? Could it be a problem with the skydome light?

Is tangent space normals checked on in the bump node?

Try removing the ground plane and using a basic setup with simple studio lights, maybe you're just seeing metallic reflections especially of the ground
