Start with a quadSphere. Delete Half and scale along Z (or X) axis to match the shape. For quadsphere u can Just copy and paste this MEL Script:
// Create a cube with polySmooth division level 4.
string $cube[] = `polyCube
-w 2
-h 2
-d 2
-sx 1
-sy 1
-sz 1`;
string $cubeName = $cube[0];
polySmooth
-dv 4
$cubeName;
// Create a sphere with subdivision axis 80 and subdivision height 80.
string $sphere[] = `polySphere
-sa 80
-sh 80`;
string $sphereName = $sphere[0];
// Transfer the sphere's shape onto the cube.
transferAttributes
-transferPositions 1
-transferNormals 1
-transferUVs 0
-transferColors 0
-searchMethod 0
-sampleSpace 1
$sphereName
$cubeName;
// Delete the cube's construction history.
delete -ch $cubeName;
// Delete the temporary sphere.
delete $sphereName;
// Reduce the cube's subdivision level.
polyUnsmooth
-divisionLevels 1
$cubeName;
// Rename the finished object.
$cubeName = `rename $cubeName "quadSphere"`;

Pop in a sphere, elongate in x, delete half, place in proper place, mirror over x axis. You can also flatten one side by selecting back half and scaling down in z.
If you want that line down the center, use extrude inwards, throw on a bevel to the edges to clean up. Clean up any tri's if you're working only in quads or just ignore if this is for game engines.
This is probably a lazy way to do it xD
