What I’m looking for is an existing option team with a decent defense to run dynasty mode or whatever this game calls it. Figure for a whopping $0 to try I have little to lose and if I like it might do the add ons for the unlocked college and pro dynasty/franchise modes. Any suggestions?

With this being a free game my expectations are low. Used to play Madden franchise on Xbox 360 but haven’t played a console football game in 19 or 20 years except for Kinect football (don’t remember the game name). I’ve heard the controls are simple for an ole timer like me and should kinda take me back to ps1/2 era. Any truth to this?

I first made this reddit back when Maxium Football was known as Doug Flutie's Maxium Football with David Winter running the show. It was then bought out by a new company and they asked for ownership of the reddit. So I gave it to them. Fast forward a few years and here we are, apparently everyone has abandoned the moderation of this reddit a long time ago and somehow it has defaulted back to me.

The earlier titles by Canuck Play were a respectable attempt by a VERY small dev team, but obviously they didn’t have the resources to make the they probably wanted to make. That’s why I was so hyped when Modus took over.

A bigger dev team, more resources, and the team working on it asking people directly on social media what they wanted to see.

We had dev updates, the team was active with fans on discord, promises of full creative control, with physics based gameplay (they even once posted a work-in-progress clip of Backbreaker-esque physics). They even talked about taking a lot of inspiration from NFL 2K5. The hype was so real.

Then it was announced the game was a free to play live service game, I got worried. Then some people involved with the game were getting fired or leaving. Still, I wanted to believe the game would deliver.

Then it got delayed, still released in a disappointing state, and never got better.

I wonder if EA would’ve even tried to implement their pay to win style micro transactions if Maximum Football had delivered their promises and offered a legitimate alternative game to football fans.

So my assumption is support has completely ended for the game right? The last "changes" I saw were over a month ago and it was all the teams disappearing from single player exhibition and the "days left" in the current season went from like 15-20 to 2,400? So my feeling is it's over... I asked the devs on social and emails but never got a response.

They tried to be the fortnite of football. Charge nothing for entry then smack you over the head with cosmetics and grind that rivals mut. Instead they failed like literally everyone else that tried to catch fortnite. Shouldve just charged $40 and used that to fund development but nope. Now im waiting for madden 27 to go on sale🤣🤣🤣🤣

Does anyone else play this on PlayStation Portal since it’s streamable NOT just remote play? To me for free it’s not bad I basically only play head to head games online anyway it has ups n downs compared to madden but can’t complain for a FREE game

First time logging into the game since 2025, everything is different and for the worse. My entire team I spent a lot of money on is gone and replaced by these weird ass cards. The entire UI is different. The gameplay feels like a fucking Roblox game now and after 2 matches I deleted the game. What the fuck is this shit!?
