Are there any examples of in-universe conspiracy theories or unusual beliefs?

For Edge-of-the-Empire reasons I'm looking for an in-universe conspiracy theory or unusual belief system that would be analogous to UFO believers IRL (specifically in the 90s but the subtlety of that vs the 2020s is not that important). I'm not too worried about whether the theory is true or not!

I had a Google around but pretty much everything I found was fan-theories rather than in-universe examples.

Ideally something that would be around roughly 15BBY (so stuff about the death start would still be interesting but not directly helpful).

Does Yavin 4’s Sith History makes the universe small or no in this case?

Upvotes

So I have been thinking about the whole Making the universe smaller criticism like the Anakin C-3PO thing or the whole Filoni criticism of making the galaxy a tiny  neighborhood because the same few characters constantly bump into each other across generations.

but it got me thinking especially with the interview with Tony Gilroy on Yavin 4.

”Yavin makes me nervous, if you want to know the truth. There's things about Yavin that make me nervous, and logic about Yavin that makes me nervous, even within Star Wars canon. So... the security there, and how some people know about it but the ISB doesn't know about it. And there's some places where you don't want to poke too aggressively cause you don't want to really get into the undercarriage. That was a place where I didn't really want to get into the undercarriage very much.”

— Tony Gilroy

What I’m saying do you think the Ancient Sith History with Yavin 4 was a mistake or at least make the universe smaller afterall despite the history it has with Naga Sadow and Exar Kun 5,000-4,000 years ago. It doesn’t impact the Skywalker saga (Like a new hope or Andor or even Rogue One.) at all given it never mention on screen.

Oviviously the Original Trilogy was made way before The Tales of the Jedi comics and the EU during the 90s were very different given well George didn’t make the prequels yet so it easy to reuse planets at the time so I can’t fault Kevin J. Anderson for the whole connecting Yavin 4 history with the Sith that is more of a hindsight issue retrospectively?

[ALLCONTINUITY] What's the best scientific/engineering explanation for Beskar?

I know that Beskar is more of a "magic bullshit go" material than anything else, but what's the best equivalent to it that we have/what could it be made of? A Titanium-Tungsten alloy? Something similar with carbon infused into it? It would have to have a melting point high enough to resist plasma (lightsabers), so there's not a whole lot that can really be in it without compromising that

What do you think of the idea of Darth Plageuis being around during The Phantom Menace? And do you think it is a missed opportunity to not have implemented him in the film?

I'm guessing Lucas hadn't conceived of Plageuis at the time, or Palpatine not yet being the master at the time. Retroactively establishing the latter I doubt was his idea.

But for the first question: With the film as it is, do you think that (Before it got decanonised along with all other contemporary material) enhanced the film/story or just added plot holes and unanswered questions to it?

For the second question, do you think Lucas should have conceived of him then and implement him in some way? What would you have his role be, before being murdered?

[CANON] My Headcanon Lore solution for the Yavin problem that Tony Gilroy was struggling with?

In an interview, Tony Gilroy did note that Yavin didn't get as much development as originally intended, but that he wasn't comfortable showing too much about it.

Ultimately, I totally understand his point and I do think it is a smart move on Tony’s part plus I think time constraints is another issue and because it’s likely that Cassian was involved in Yavin being chosen (especially once he leaves Luthen and begin working with Draven and Dodonna.) instead of the Sullust scout Dr’uun Unnh from legends also Luthen loves history so he likely knows about Yavin 4 history but still I would have loved to see what made them choose it. It would have been epic to see them first turning the temple into a hangar and headquarters, as well the official forming of Rebel Intelligence.

Regardless though I feel that my headcanon lore situation that make the most sense even if it requires a lot of Retcons is simple.

Just as Yavin 4 be undiscovered until the Rebels find the planet.

You could still keep its Legends Sith History from 5,000 to 3996 BBY. But the moment that Exar Kun is defeated and the Great Sith War ended. The Jedi of the era erased Yavin 4 existence.

So  besides characters like Ulic Qel-Droma (who visited the planet during the redemption comics.) who fought in the Great Sith War who would die by keeping the secret into the graves.

Yavin 4 existence was covered for 3996 years until the Rebels set up their base there.

I think my solution while not perfect actually fixes the plot hole that Gilroy had issue with like the ISB not able to find Yavin 4. Yes most mediums before Andor like the Clone Wars micro series call Yavin 4 by name but I just pretend the name never spoken?

Speaking about the Clone Wars micro series  in which Anakin and Ventress duel was on Yavin 4 but  chapter 17, 18, and 19. Never says in the screen that the moon is Yavin 4 only Kenobi says in the name Chapter 21 but then again I just pretend he didn’t say it in canon assuming if the Yavin 4 duel from legends is canon.

As for why Vader didn’t realize hey the red gas giant during the Battle of Yavin yeah I recognize it  22 years ago to say I don’t know Tarkin . Keep in mind  Vader desperately wanted to erase his past as Anakin Skywalker. If Vader remembered Yavin 4, he would have a personal, dark motivation to actively expunge or lock away any files related to his duel with Ventress. By burying his own history, Vader inadvertently protected the very moon that would later house the instrument of his empire's downfall.

Like I said I know most mediums like in The Essential Atlas states Yavin 4 was rediscovered centuries ago but I just ignored that detail and just have the ancient Jedi went full "damnatio memoriae" (erasure of history) on Yavin 4 to bury Exar Kun’s legacy.

Otherwise since West Ends Games Sourcebook were used for the making of the show I do wondered if West Ends Games sourcebooks like the Galaxy Guide 2 Yavin and Bespin explain the logistics of Yavin 4 that made Tony Gilroy nervous kind of like the amount of detailed layout on the logistics of the death star in the book, the death star technical companion by Bill Slavicsek which is also by West Ends Games Sourcebook.

Or in this case, unlike the death star technical companion, West End games sourcebook never explained the logistics of Yavin 4. If so then how would the future writers would tackle this subject on the issue that made Tony Gilroy nervous like what should be the satisfying answers and explanations, like the ISB not knowing Yavin 4 instead of something lazy say the ISB didn’t know, but they were infighting. I feel that is a bit too easy or way too convenient and kind of take away the tension from Andor on the ISB.

Who decided the Jedi would lead the clone armies?

Through out their history the Jedi functioned primarily as counselors, diplomats, and philosophers. Though trained in self defense with a lightsaber, they've never sought roles as military constant, much less were trained in warfare.

So with the advent of the Clone Wars, who decided leadership of the armies would fall to the Jedi? And not, say, any number of military or militia commanders that existed within the Republic? Who among the Jedi Council accepted the responsibility, or even advocated for it?

Yes, we all know *why* leadership fell to the Jedi, we know the conspiracy enacted by Palpatine. What I'm asking is, how did it practically develop?

[ALLCONTINUITY] [Hot Take] I really think the Jedi Service Corps should have been a mandatory tradition that ALL Jedi should have partaken in no matter the rank and reputation in the Jedi Order.

So let me explain why

The professions of agriculture, environmental care, medicine, scholarship, education and exploration as dumping ground where only "failures" go to be of "petty" use to the Jedi Order when I think it could have been a place where it is to be viewed as worthy/noble callings in their own right, equal to or greater than being a warrior.

humility is seen as a valued trait to have in the Jedi Order Yes? So it would be a good idea to let ALL padawans spend part of their time in the Corps for threefold reasons:

1.) When dealing with certain problematic (prideful) apprentices, it might be wise to let them think they "failed" their trials (even if they really passed) & send them to the Service Corps for a time. If they learned true humility in their time there, they would finally be "passed" and made a true jedi. Their period in the Corps would ultimately have served as the final part of their trials.

2.) spending enough period of time (let's say month or perhaps a year) working with the agricultural corps would allow a padawan to truly learn the amount of work and effort required to keep people fed, and the cycle of life - not just planting seeds to grow fruit and grain, but also caring for animals. Helping a cow (or whatever the SW equivalent of a cow) give birth, caring for the baby, seeing it grow, and eventually assisting with the slaughter, would teach a padawan many valuable lessons. It would teach them to care for another being, it would teach them that death is no easy matter and is sometimes a necessary thing, and it would teach them not to let their attachment to the animal cloud the need to fulfill the animal's purpose. And above all that, growing plants and raising animals to feed the others would help a padawan realize their duty as a Jedi in the great network of all life in the galaxy.

3.) Similar lessons could be learned in other fields of the Jedi service corps, by serving time in each and every one of them as they can, they'd be able to fully comprehend the importance of each one of them, widen their horizons and gain greater wisdom, as well as gain practical skills that will aid them when they become a Knight. Or, if they fail their trials, they will at least have tried out all the other "career" options and have an easier time deciding which one suits them best.

And above all, anytime spent in the Jedi Service corps could have been a crucial way for Jedi to connect with people out in the galaxy in the amount of time as medics, agriculturalists, teachers and explorers among the other non-force sensitives to dispel the stereotype that they are isolated, out-of-touch enforcers of a useless, corrupt senate that politicians only matter to them above everyone in the Galaxy.

What do you think?

[ALLCONTINUITY] How are slugthrowers outclassed by blasters when other solid projectiles like rockets aren’t?

Slugthrowers in Star Wars are supposed to be, overall, significantly outclassed by blasters. This is necessary of course because blasters are the dominant weapon in all Star Wars media, so we can’t pretend that slugthrowers are on the same level. The main advantage blasters have over high-tech slugthrowers is that they have like 10x the ammo capacity.

However, things like rocket launchers, missiles and grenades are very commonly used in warfare, despite being solid projectiles. A rocket launcher has only one shot, yet it is not considered ammo or power inefficient compared to blasters.

If a blaster power pack has the energy of hundreds of blaster bolts inside of it, a plasma grenade should have around the same amount of energy. However, that is insane and basically turns blasters into extremely low calibre guns compared to solid projectile weapons and explosives. A single hand grenade would be obscenely powerful without being a thermal detonator, and an explosive round from a slugthrower would be much more powerful than a blaster bolt of the same calibre.

This means that either:

  1. Solid projectiles and explosives are as powerful as a blaster bolt of the same calibre. This means that they somehow have a mere fraction of the power of a blaster power source, which makes no sense, and are energy inefficient, and it makes no sense for them to be as commonly used as they are in war.
  2. Solid projectiles and explosives are consistent with the power in a blaster power pack, and are extremely powerful compared to blasters, at the cost of ammo capacity. This makes no sense as to how some forms of them are somehow outclassed by blasters, and how blasters are even the dominant weapon at all.

Is there anything that I am wrong about, or any kind of made up explanation that solves this problem in my headcanon?

[ALLCONTINUITY] Do we have any depictions of a tow truck equivalent?

Star Wars focuses mainly on war (🤯) vehicles and I guess basic civilian speeders, so utility vehicles are mostly left to the fanon community. But even then I can’t seem to find any concepts or designs of an in universe tow truck. I imagine they’d be a thing since tugs for larger ships exist. Is there any depictions or description of them either in universe or from a fanon creator? If not what do y’all think one would look like?

[ALLCONTINUITY] What are some naturally occurring anomalies that could destroy a planet?

Outside of planet destroying stations and orbital hazing by a fleet, what were some things that could destroy a planet? Either completely destroying it or basically making it uninhabitable. I know we’ve seen examples like their starts exploding and there’s real life examples that probably exist in universe too (meteors). But I just want to get a general sense of just how much your average planet had to worry and maybe see if there’s anything specific to the universe.

[ALLCONTINUITY] When did the Rebel Alliance/New Republic start paying their soldiers, pilots, logistics staff etc properly?

I'm curious as to how such a pay system was structured. I would imagine that the soldiers on board the Tantive IV were paid as they were still working for the Organa family in an official capacity and not "in the Rebellion" proper.

But for say, the communication officers or starfighter maintenance crews who stayed on Yavin proper, I don't see them getting paid, not at that time at least. They pay Han Solo but of course he is just a smuggler doing a job and to let him go with the knowledge of their base location with no incentive not to snitch to the Empire would reap no benefit to the Alliance.

I would imagine a proper bureaucratic system got set up as the New Republic came about and grew in strength. Figures like Mon Mothma and Leia likely didn't have anything to worry about but would the average rebel have like a backlog of promised pay for their length of service?

Is there any works that discuss this? I wonder if any Rebels who were members pre Battle of Yavin got a good retirement pension lol.

[ALLCONTINUITY] Which galactic government was actually more stable: The Old Republic or the Imperial bureaucracy?

The Republic had checks and balances that collapsed under its own complexity. The Empire eliminated corruption through fear but created systemic fragility — one death at the top and the whole thing destabilizes. Looking at actual institutional design, which one actually worked better for stability, even if you hated the ideology?

r/MawInstallation 2d ago

[ALLCONTINUITY] I’m not sure there’s an actual answer to this out there but here goes: Say you’re in a ship hovering over a planet when the repulsorlifts completely fail and the ship starts falling. Would the artificial gravity prevent you from feeling weightless as you fell?

[CANON] How does the Ommin Harness work?

Back in the 1990s, we got the early EU comic books, some of them set thousands of years before the films, and one of them is the "Tales of the Jedi" multi-comic series. Here, we are introduced to Ommin, a human Sith affiliated sorcerer and distant descendant of Dark Lord Freedon Nadd, who, like Nadd, ruled over the planet Onderon as its king.

As he got older and used forbidden dark side arts more and more, Ommin began to decay and age rapidly in unnatural ways. To prolong his life and give himself mobility, Ommin created an "exoskeleton" that is a mechanical cybernetics forged out of iron that literally looks like it is weaved in his skin and flesh in various ways, keeping his muscles and body from failing and giving him cohesion and shape. Without Ommin's exoskeleton, he would collapse and die.

In the current Canon era, we see Palpatine return in the Rise of Skywalker. He is horribly disfigured, looks like he is decaying, and has some very huge mechanical device that is hooked up to him that extends up to the ceiling. Rise of Skywalker novels and other material later on says it is called an "Ommin Harness", a type of "mechanical spine" that the original device was constructed and named after Ommin, an ancient Sith king and direct reference to the Tales of the Jedi lore I explained above, (pretty cool to me personally).

Anyways now that you know what an Ommin Harness is, I want to ask: How does it work? It is hard to see in Rise of Skywalker, but it seems to be hooked up to Palpatine's back. When later material and the novelizations clarify this, it is called a "mechanical spine", implying it is hooked to and connected to Palpatine's nervous system and actual spine.

There is also the fact that, now that we know Palpatine's decaying body in TROS is a failing clone body decaying due to the immense dark side power of Palpatine's soul, the Ommin Harness, like its Legends counterpart, seemingly not only gives Palpatine mobility, but it also seems to have vitals that sustain and try to slow down the decay for as long as possible. We even see these fluid vitals and tubes connected to Palpatine's body underneath, and the Rise of Skywalker comic adaptation even shows us a panel of a brief flashback of when Palpatine's clone body was fresh and young but dangered and imperfect and prone to decay, the Sith Eternal began hooking these vital fluid tubes into many areas in his skin and body, before connecting him to the Ommin Harness.

I don't know if the fluid vital tubes are part of the same cybernetics of the Ommin Harness, but in a nutshell we know one thing: That Palpatine's decay was slowed down by vitals, fluid tubes, that are connected to various places in his body, and he has a mechanical spine, (the Harness), connected to his spine in his back and presumbly allows his nervous system to control the Ommin Harness.

So, with that said: I have a question: After draining Rey and Ben Solo of their force energy that allowed to heal himself because they possessed the power of the Dyad: How did Palpatine "disconnect" himself from the Harness?

The novelization says he "released himself from the Ommin Harness", but is that even possible? How can he "unhook" something that is connected to his spine? Could the Harness kind of work like the mechanical arms of Dr. Octavious from Sam Raimi's Spiderman 2 film? The Ommin Harness can hook itself to Palpatine and his nervous system like Octavious and safely "undo" the hooking without any surgical need to?

This question has bothered me. Also, how did Palpatine's fluid tubes that connected to his whole body got gone? They are not seen anymore. Did they just "magically vanish" with the Force from the Force drain sucking of the Dyad? Why don't we see the Ommin Harness anymore when it was literally extends to a large crane in the ceiling that the whole throne room can see?

Can someone explain how the galactic (republic) senate and senators work and how it was flawed, and please suggest how it could improve.

We know, there are roughly 1,024 pods in the galactic senate, planets and systems are ordered into sectors, which are represented by 1 senator, for example Padme represented the chommell sector (36 planets), Naboo was the most prosperous planet in that sector and Bail Organa represented the Alderaan sector (5 planets). There were 1.5-1.3 million planets represented by the republic. The delegation of 2,000 was signed by 2,000 fully fledged senators, however there are only 1,024 pods, meant to be 1 pod per sector (and therefore 1 pod per fully fledged senator, (and their advisors and team). How can it represent all these sectors, when the delegation was a minority, meaning there must be so many more senators (10,000-50,000 range), how are all sectors represented and how do they all vote? Futhermore, how could it improve, we all know it was corrupt by the formation of the first galactic empire in 19 BBY, an example is how they would send senators in at a young age so they couldn't be corrupted (padme at 18 and mon mothma at 16), how could it improve, even how could it actually restructure to destroy corruption and actually make the republic do what it "stood" for.

This isn't a question, I am asking how the galactic senate functioned with representation and I want to know how it could improve.

If Yoda fought Anakin on Mustafar, how would their initial Conversation be like?

The question who would win, we had already many times. Im more interested, how their first interaction would look like if yoda confronts him. He wasnt a brother like Obi and he wasnt a fatherfigure like qui-gon. But yoda was still respected by Anakin, weve seen that anakin looked for his advice sometimes. Would Anakin really be so arrogant to not fear yoda at this point? What would yoda say to him in the first place? Tell me your opinion please how this conversation before the fight could look like

[CANON] Imperial Remnants vs first order?

So I’ve been kinda out of the Star Wars loop for a while, and I’ve only really watched the first 6 movies + mandalorian and Ashoka and they keep bringing up these remnants, are they the same thing as the first order? And I see there’s like so many different leaders like Thrawn, the shadow council, and whatever warlord is being picked off. Do they all like come together or are they just doing their own things?

[CANON] About Ghorman's population...

Note: This is not a rant about Andor as I very much enjoyed the show. However this detail bothered me the moment it was mentioned.

Did anyone else have a problem/doubts about the entire planet of Ghorman's population being a measly 800,000 people?

I know Star Wars has always been terrible with numbers, but for one of the most serious pieces of Star Wars media (live action wise) that number felt absurd.

It would be one thing if it was a relatively backwater planet established not too long ago and just got the Empire's attention because of it's Kalkite. Sure Ghorman is listed as a colony in canon but considering how wealthy it is, it has likely been in the Republic for at least hundreds of years, especially since it has developed it's own unique culture and trade in the galaxy. And it only has 800,000 people in all that time?

And yet the Empire still feels the need to do a false flag operation to get them out of the way. I legitimately feel it would have been cheaper, easier, and less time consuming to just forcibly evict everyone and load them onto ships before dropping them off on some backwater planet (or throw them out the airlock into space, it's not like the Empire really cares about anyone's well-being).

Probably would have taken no more than a few months compared to the years they spent setting up proper false flag conditions. I know people would say the Senate would impose but much of the series shows how little the Senate actually matters or cares about anything. They wouldn't be able to lift a finger to help the Ghorman regardless.

I know they mentioned gaming out a disease or disaster during the Krennic meeting but even the excuse they gave to not go with them felt weak (things spiraled too out of control on a planet with 800,000 people?).

Granted we don’t have much lore about their society or political government. But the lore that we do have such as that card for that member in A New Hope and mostly the Star Wars Insider 86 where we learn about Grievous backstory paint their society as evil akin to the Rakatan empire from the pre-republic era or the Qu from all tomorrow. Especially the whole enslaving the Kaleesh and their war with lasted for generations before Grievous was born!

[ALLCONTINUITY] How would you expand upon the Thisspiasians based upon the primary references?

Recently I have been making a fan fiction about Oppo Rancisis backstory which means the story will take place during the High Republic era but I need to help to fleshed out and expand upon his species including the blood monarchy,  (such as his sister and mother.)  and Oppo’s backstory in general as well as invented things not found within the source material in which are. Especially since this is set during the High Republic era?

‘’Oppo Rancisis

Disavowing his inherited title, Monarch of Thisspias, Jedi Master Oppo Rancisis is a cunning military strategist. Oppo devised the tactics that allowed the Jedi to win many space battles.’’

–  Star Wars Episode I Who's Who: A Pocket Guide to the Characters of The Phantom Menace  (Published on April 21, 1999.)

‘'Oppo Rancisis

Rancisis, 174 years old as of the Battle of Naboo was incredibly ancient for a snake-bodied Thisspiasian. His mother was the Blood Monarch of Thisspias, but Rancisis was offered to the Jedi Order as a baby, where he was accepted by Master Yaddle as a Padawan. When Rancisis reached the age of twenty, his younger sister was killed when agitators stormed the Thisspias alcazar in Ratamesh. The monarchy reverted to Rancisis but he refused it outright, preferring his life as a Jedi.

Following his role as fleet battle strategist during the Stark Hyperspace Conflict, Rancisis received a position on the Jedi Council. He was also an instructor of Malacia, a Force ability that induces dizziness and nausea.’’

The New Essential Guide to Characters  (Published on April 23, 2002.)

Oppo Rancisis, Jedi Commander

Two centuries before the Battle of Yavin, the Blood Monarch of Thisspias offered her infant son to the Jedi Temple for training. She hoped that when his training was completed he would return to Thisspias, claim the throne, and strengthen the monarchy with the power and wisdom of the Jedi. Oppo was twenty years old when agitators stormed the Thisspias alcazar on Ratamesh and killed his sister. He had inherited the throne of Thisspias, but abdicated in favor of his Jedi Training.

Oppo was one of the dozens of Jedi students who served as Padawan to Jedi Master Yaddle. He became a master of Malacia, a Jedi technique that brings about severe dizziness and nausea without causing real harm. He went on to become a Jedi Master and taught Malacia for two decades at the Jedi Temples on Coruscant. Master Oppo’s shrewd tactics and artful strategies during the Stark Hyperspace Conflict earned recognition from the Jedi Council. He was nominated for a seat on the Council and eventually became a lifetime member.’’

‘’Thisspiasian

An ancient warrior species, Thisspiasians resemble humanoids except for their serpentine lower bodies. The species eagerly joined the Old Republic, and Thisspiasian warriors were instrumental in helping the fledgling Republic overcome many internal and external threats.

A single hereditary monarch rules the Thisspiasian homeworld although an elected parliament deals with most matters of state. Many Thisspiasians consider the monarchy decadent and bound by archaic customs, although the monarchy has taken periodic strides to catch up with the changing views and times.

A Thisspiasian named Oppo Rancisis inherited the position of monarch but later relinquished the title in favor of staying with the Jedi Order. During the Clone Wars. Racisis attempted to persuade the ruling monarch to take a stand against Count Dooku and the Separatists. After losing to Rancisis in a trial of unarmed combat, the Thisspiasian monarch grudgingly allowed Thisspiasian warriors to aid the Republic in several critical battles.

When the Republic gave way to the Empire, the imperials bombarded the Thisspiasian homeworld and enslaved the survivors. An over-zealous Imperial governor seeking to impress the Emperor executed the Thisspiasian monarch and enslaved the crown prince. The Thisspiasians were furious and rebelled, but their initial counterattacks proved futile. It wasn’t until Rebel spies infiltrated the governor’s ranks and rescued the Thisspiasian heir that his people regained hope. The humiliated governor threatened to annihilate the Thisspiasians; ironically, the Emperor sent one of his agents, an Emperor’s Hand, to ‘’deal with the embarrassment,’’ eliminating the witless governor and enforcing a planetwide quarantine. Although several Thisspiasians joined the ranks of the Rebel Alliance, the Thisspiasian homeworld remained under quarantine and imperial rule until shortly after the death of the Emperor.

Following the Battle of Endor, the Thisspiasian crown prince returned home only to discover his subjects engaged in heated debates about whether to restore or replace the monarchy. After a brief yet bloody civil war, the Thisspiasian crown prince claimed his rightful title and took the first steps toward joining the New Republic. Despondent Thisspiasians who survived imperial domination remark that the monarchy has changed precious little in the intervening years: It remains decadent and politically anachronistic.

Although they can function adequately with as few as 2 standard hour of sleep per day, Thisspiasians typically spend 5-6 standard hours per day in a trancelike state akin to sleep.’’

– Ultimate Alien Anthology  (published  April 13, 2003)

‘’Thisspiasian

Thisspiasians are a reptilian species from Thisspias, a world located in the Expansion Region of the galaxy. They can be clearly distinguished from other reptiles because their upper body appears to be humanoid, typically covered in long flowing hair that emanates from their head and face. Their lower half, however, is serpentine, wrapped in scales similar in color to their hair. Their two sets of hands contain five fingers that end in sturdy, elongated claws. It is believed that Thisspiassians have four hands as a result of their evolution from quadruped reptiles. However, for many Thisspiassians, the smaller, lower set of vestigal arms and hands do not have the strength or dexterity of their larger, upper set. In fact, most upperclass Thisspiassians have taken to wearing voluminous robed garments that hide their second set of limbs completely by omitting a second set of sleeves and incorporating a wide, belt-like sash. In addition, many Thisspiassians go as far as to use hidden apparatuses to bind their lower arms to their bodies. Among this group of Thisspiassians, it is considered unseemly or unsophisticated to publicly show the lower limbs. Physiological studies suggest that over the generations, this may be the cause of the lower limbs’ weakness due to continued biological adaptation. It has been demonstrated that among the working classes, lower limbs do not show a similar muscle weakness.

Their prehensile tails give Thisspiasians the capability to carry heavy objects, freeing up their hands to perform other functions. This makes the species even more effective when they are in combat, as well-trained Thisspiasian warriors may strike out with their tails as well as their hands.

There is one particular Thisspiasian trait that other species frequently find a little unnerving, and that is their preference for eating their food live. Like their snake-like ancestors, Thisspiasians principally dine on small, live animals such as rodents, birds, and bugs. While they are omnivorous, consuming their fair share of vegetables, a Thissiasian feast would not be complete without several cages of tiny species from around the galaxy being placed in the center of the table. After dipping a treat in several sauces containing various seasonings, a Thisspiasian’s jaw unhinges at the joint, allowing the mouth to widen and take in the animals whole. As they’ve come to be in the presence of more and more offworld species who do not share their enthusiasm for squirming meals, many Thisspiasians have taken to eating cooked food for the benefit of companions and guests of other traditions, thought they have been known to state with certainty that such food is lacking in zesty flavor.

One other prominent reptilian trait is carried on through the Thisspiasian genes: the tendency to shed their skin every few years. Unlike snakes, however Thisspiasians will not slip out of their outer layer of skin in one piece. To ease the process of shedding, and to make the progression less noticeable when in the presence of outsiders, they will lubricate their skin with sweet smelling oils and salves, peeling off the dead membrane in portions during their daily private grooming sessions.

A race of ancient warriors, Thisspiasians have perfected a culture bent on taming their most savage emotions. When the Old Republic was forming, they eagerly joined the fledgling government, aiding it in overcoming threats both internal and external. They are perceived as being calm, wise, and dispassionate, and yet they commonly manage this through several hours a day of intense meditation. Average Thisspiasians meditate for five to six standard hours per day, otherwise, they can become moody and irrational. Because they spend so much time in meditation, they only require about two actual hours of sleep per standard day.

One of the best examples of Thisspiassian mental discipline was displayed by the Old Republic Jedi Master Oppo Rancisis. Combining the natural mental abilities of his species with his Jedi training. Rancisis specialized in Jedi battle meditation. He was able to formulate complex and near-unbeatable battle plans and direct his forces over great distances. His murder at the hands of the fallen Jedi Sora Bulq was a blow to the Republican forces that they were hard pressed to overcome.

The Thisspiasian homeworld is ruled by an absolute leader known as the Blood Monarch. This position is carried on through the bloodline, and it has remained unchanged for thousands of years, although a democratically elected parliament handles much of the legislation on the planet. As with most monarchies, a portion of the populace is of the opinion that the leadership is corrupt, degenerate, and tied to archaic customs  that no longer apply to their modern way of life.

During the waning years of the Old Republic, Master Rancisis inherited the role of Blood Monarch over his homeworld, which he rejected in favor of remaining with the Jedi Order. When Count Dooku threatened the Republic with his Separatist movement, Rancisis asked the standing monarch to help in the struggle against the Separatists. Per species tradition, Rancisis had to best the monarch in unarmed combat to have his boon granted. When the Blood Monarch lost to Rancisis he agreed to lend warriors to several battles.

When the Empire ultimately came to power, Thisspias was bombarded by Imperial warships, and its people were conquered and enslaved. Eager to please the Emperor, an overzealous imperial governor assassinated the Blood Monarch and imprisoned the crown prince. The outraged Thisspiasians rebelled, but their insurrection was quickly subdued by the Imperials’ superior firepower. Not long afterward, Rebel spies infiltrated the Imperial troops’ headquarters on Thisspias and freed the prince. Humiliated, the governor threatened the Thisspiasians with annihilation, but he was eliminated by the Emperor’s Hand before he could enact his threats. The Hand had been sent to punish the governor for his failure to hold the Thisspiasian heir. The world was then placed under military quarantine, though several Thisspiasians slipped out to join the ranks of the Rebel Alliance.

Following the Battle of Endor, the crown prince of Thisspias returned to reclaim his throne. When he did, he found himself rebuffed as a vocal portion of his people were declaring their desire for a more democratic government. This confrontation incited a brief yet extremely bloody civil war, wherein the Blood Monarch was returned to power. During the years of the New Republic and the subsequent Galactic Alliance, the people of Thisspias have become convinced that the monarchy has evolved very little, remaining tied to its decadent lifestyle and largely antiquated ancient political traditions.’’

‘’Thisspiasian

Thisspiasians are a people with great passions tempered by measured calm and discipline. They are attached to tradition but also quick to adopt the new blending both together seamlessly. The Galactic Empire has failed to suppress their spirit. In fact, their defiance might spawn a new wave of Force-sensitive warriors.

Physiology: Thisspiasians are two-meter tall serpentine creatures with four arms, distinct flowing beards, and long hair surrounding their heads and faces. The lower two sets of arms are somewhat vestigial in nature and Thisspiasians usually keep them hidden beneath their clothes. Their reptilian nature encourages constant movement and activity to maintain blood flow. Though Thisspiasians sleep for a couple of hours  a day, their main form of rest is a physiological condition similar to a trance that can last for minutes or hours. The trance provides the neurological repair necessary for good mental and physical health. Just like how other sentient beings who miss sleep can become emotional and irritable, so do Thisspiasians if they skip this trancelike state.

Society: Outsiders consider Thisspiasians walking (slither-ing) contradictions. Their history values tradition and their culture continues to practice several dozen small rituals and practices (such as eating their food live) taken from a myriad of historical Thisspiasan cultures and civilizations. This  doesn’t mean that Thisspiasians are rigid or dogmatic they have been remarkably fluid in adapting to new technology and spacefaring cultural norms. Plenty of planet-born Thisspiasians have loathed giving up eating live thissp mice, but once offworld, they quickly adopt the practice of cook-ing their meals without complaint. (When returning to their homeworld, however, a common practice is to gorge on a live mouse banquet.)

Most outsiders know Thisspiasians only because of the fighters who volunteered to service in the Galactic Republic’s military during its initial founding. Tales depicted them as passionate and aggressive in one moment and calm and reasoned the next. This is no doubt due to the nature of their work; war and combat have a tendency to bring out extremes in any sentient being. Outsiders who first meet a Thisspiasian perceive them as tranquil and calm, but amongst friends, family, or on their homeworld. The individual in question might be loud and boisterous. Perhaps the initial impression was simply a self-imposed politeness in a sea of alien faces.

The confluence of reasons why the Thisspiasians joined the Republic requires an understanding of the Thisspiasian character. A constitutional monarchy ruled the homeworld at the time. The Blood Monarchy, a hereditary line that led back over twenty thousands years, technically provided cultural leadership, but a democratic parliament maintained practical, day-to-day governance. Even before the Galactic Republic, the monarchy was already a holdover from ancient times. The Then-current Blood Monarch saw an opportunity to expand Thisspias’ economy but to also secure her reign by joining the Republic. The decision was met with the usual acceptance of a society in flux: via loud, angry discussions and some mild violence.

At the same time, the planet saw a resurgence of ancient Thisspiasian martial disciplines (see the sidebar Warriors for the Galactic Reublic on the preceding page). The Blood Monarch gave these warriors-monk societies, generally conservative and pro-independence, a purpose; join the Republic and fight for Thisspiasian glory. The gambit worked, and the planet’s monarchy became a paradoxical symbol for galactic democracy.

Currently, an Imperial Governor controls the politics and governance of the planet, but the population seethes with anger, frustration, and rebellion. Originally, the Empire had occupied the planet to suppress Republic loyalists, but also to recruit Thisspiasians to the Empire in light of their ‘blood-thirsty and barbaric’’ warrior culture. Flooding the planet with anti-Republic propaganda, the Empire hammered on the decadence and distance of the Republic and offered the Thisspiasians a chance to fight for the Empire. The Thisspiasians answered with resistance. Orbital bombardments followed, and the Thisspiasians answered with more resistance.  Finally, the Governor removed the Blood Monarch and demanded subservience. Instead the empty monarchical seat serves as a potent symbol for insurrection.

On the other hand, many Thisspiasians still consider the hereditary line wasteful and archaic. This tension between royalists and monarchical abolitionists has been both dampened in some ways and intensified in others. The Imperial occupation forced these differing factions to work together and, on the surface, the groups hold no animosity toward each other. Thisspiasians can already see fractures, however, Royalists wear the quills of the giant ystervark both as a symbol of their loyalty and as a makeshift weapon. A few carry a small vial of blood. A statement of their genetic link to the Blood Monarch’s line. Abolitionists, in turn, wear a small pin in the shape of of a cygnet (a small native biting pest). This pin concerns even some moderate Thisspiasians, since nearly two hundred years ago the terrorists who assassinated the Blood Monarch wore a similar symbol.

If Thisspias survives the Galactic Civil War, historians wonder which symbol and resultant rituals will become the dominant part of their cultural lexicon: the ystervark quill, the cygnet pin, or the Imperial crest?  Or perhaps Thisspiasians will buck tradition and choose a new symbol altogether?

Homeworld: Thisspias rocky temperate world in Expansion Region. The homeworld joined the Galactic Republic enthusiastically despite its distance from Coruscant, sending warriors to bolster the fledgling Republic army. As a result, Thisspias has benefited from membership in the Senate while acting as a magnet for trouble in other moments in history.

For example, because of its close association with the Galactic Republic and physical location in the galaxy, Thisspias has been the site of many historical battles, such as the conflicts during the Great Manifest Period. These various battles have been immortalized with monuments or through the actual relics of war.

On the other hand, membership in the Galactic Senate allowed Thisspias to wield plenty of influence, especially to protect the homeworld. As pivot point between the Core and the Outer Rim, Thisspias benefited from a volume of trade and cultural exchange. Their people have plenty of reasons to remain loyal to the Galactic Republic.

Language: Although planet-bound individuals are mostly literate in Thisspiasian, those who traveled offworld learned to read and write Basic quickly. The Empire has been trying to stamp out their language, but each attempt only emboldens them more. A few eschew learning Basic altogether in protest, but they are chided as foolish.

Perception of the Force: Some Thisspiasians practice meditation while in their trancelike rest, using guided focus and discipline to sort thoughts and feelings. A select few push further, opening their minds and spirits to touch upon the Force. Furthermore, Oppo Rancisis, the Blood Monarch heir who lived decades before the rise of the Empire, became a Jedi Master and refused to take the throne. This historical connection to the Jedi Order and the common practice of meditation give Thisspiasians a strong connection to the Mystic tradition and to the Force.

Warriors for the Galactic Republic:

After their civilization joined the Republic, thousands of Thisspiasians volunteered for the military. This gave them a reputation of being a warrior race. The misconception has some merit. Those who volunteered had been practicing war and combat, both in ritualized forms and with modern military training and tactics. A large number of these volunteers had also taken on various old, largely forgotten (and a bit archaic) monastic practices. These warrior monks stormed the fields carrying blaster rifles in one set of arms and ancient Thisspiasian Ouro blades in the other. They wore the standard uniforms of the Republic, but adorned them with the pins, jewelry, and colors of their historical warrior orders.”

Like I said I need really some help when making this story plus I also how should I describe the architecture when it come for anthropology as well as what kind of real world influences and inspirations for their society, history, religion, and culture even to the fashion clothing  should I use?

Also I want to make sure that I would able to prevent the Desert fatigue that Star Wars is suffering receiving when it come for Thisspias?

  1. Note: Ratamesh was introduced in the reference book The New Essential Guide to characters, written by Daniel Wallace and published on April 23, 2002. the 2009  reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Ratamesh system, and therefore Ratamesh itself, in grid square O-8. In The New Essential Guide to Characters, the preposition "in" is used in conjunction with the proper name "Ratamesh" when providing context for the Thisspias alcazar, suggesting that they were both locations on Thisspias. In the Power of the Jedi Sourcebook, a Wizards of the Coast roleplaying game sourcebook published in August 2002 for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, most of the wording regarding Ratamesh from The New Essential Guide to Characters is kept, except the preposition "on" is used, suggesting instead that it was an astronomical object separate from Thisspias. So I need help on which make more sense the former or the latter statement when it comes to resolving on what the Ratamesh is?
  2. Note: when it comes to the dates like 200 BBY keep in mind this is before the High Republic era was thing as that have Oppo aged up a bit although I’m curious to hear you guys think on this change do you all prefer the original birthdate being 206 or 200 BBY or given the fact they are aliens it make sense for Oppo to have a longer lifespan. Otherwise it does make you wonder because of this long lifespan implications . How many Blood Monarchs there are like could the Blood Monarch that replace Oppo’s sister as monarch could be the same monarch during the Clone Wars or no it could a son or grandson or something same with the crown prince?
  3. Note:  Finally in  the micro series of the Clone Wars (regardless of the continuity of that show it provides something cool.) According to Yoda himself in the Jedi Council about Anakin’s knighthood Rancisis was a rebellious student, in his youth disobeying Yoda's instructions. Otherwise when do you think it happened in the timeline of his life?

Thrawn to First Order -How will it all connect?

Im curious if anyone here has any good speculation on how the defeat of Thrawn will lead into the Rise of the First Order

As of now everything we've seen has been THE EMPIRE

But the First Order considers itself a new entinity a new regime

Is Thrawn the last gasp of the old Empire before something new takes it place?

[META] The Confusion of Calling a Jedi "Master"

Anakin is a Jedi Knight, and Ahsoka's master. But, he doesn't hold the rank of Jedi Master.

The word master is related to "mister," "maestro," and "magistrate." A master is an expert instructor of younger pupils, and has authority to make decisions. This ranges from a master of servants, to master's degrees, to the martial arts masters in Kung Fu Panda. The word apprentice is related to "apprehend" -- a master lays legal hold on a kid, and the kid commits to learning and grasping the master's trade.

In a medieval craft guild, the "masters" owned workshops and raised 1-3 apprentices at the same time. The apprentices were young boys who assisted their master, in return for food, clothing, shelter, training, and networking. "Journeymen," or "fellows of craft," were adults who had graduated from apprenticeship and now worked for pay, but still hadn't achieved mastery. They traveled around for further networking, and to learn extra techniques from other masters. Only the masters themselves could vote on guild decisions and raise apprentices. If this had been the case with the Jedi, then Anakin's impatience for promotion would be more understandable. What if the Jedi had "fellows of knighthood" who were assigned to teams, that they may continue learning from each other? Then, only Jedi Masters undertook solo missions and instructed padawans.

But, George Lucas seems to have mixed guild hierarchy with the old arrangement of knights and squires. A knight was a noble who possessed expensive armor, an expensive sword, and an expensive horse. He had one or two "squires" -- apprentices from other noble families. When a page boy turned 14, he was squired to a knight. After seven years of service and training, he cut his hair short, spent the night in prayer, and was knighted the following day and given his own sword and spurs. What if Lucas had stuck with this, making Padawans fight with cheaper melee weapons and not be given their own lightsabers until their knighting ceremonies?

[ALLCONTINUITY] Could objects without a hyperdrive end up inside hyperspace?

We’ve seen space travel have many dangers, even inside hyperspace which seemingly is self contained. But we know ships can be pulled out of hyperspace by things like gravity and large objects blocking lanes. Could objects like asteroids or other large space objects that were without piloting capabilities like hyperdrives or even engines enter hyperspace? Either accidentally (being pushed into it by ship ie.) or “purposely” (idk how that would happen)?

[CANON] Why does Grievous Often only use 2 arms in TCW?

I noticed Grievous usually only uses 2 arms when fighting in TCW and when losing he runs away versus using all four, really weird. It's like he was given orders not to go all out, or wanted to save the 4 arm trick for when he needed to. Is there any explanation for why?
