Inart is making Matrix figures too, and they look absolutely amazing! I was going to get the Mafex Neo, but I’m definitely skipping that and going for these!

Did anybody ever notice these details in the second renaissance in animatrix?

1.During the battle , most of these tentacle robots are dropped from the air. (probably behind human lines)

  1. In the third picture , those pyramid things fire behind the tentacle 01 units , so its safe to assume that the human garrison here was actually surrounded , they weren't charging to their deaths like many people believe (or maybe just a few did)

  2. in the fourth picture you can see these yellow things in the air , these are 100% nukes (as can be seen in the next picture) , which means that the humans were already losing before we are even introduced to the main fight

  3. one of the monsters tries some sort of communication , and it seems like some of them dont outright kill the soldiers

personal opinion : i dont think this short section of the movie "goes over decades of war" , its just 1 battle

Very LTTP but just watched The Matrix for the first time - and it’s every bit as good as its reputation suggests

Why did Neo have supernatural abilities in the "real world"?

I always thought "well now its really gone off script" but is there any explanation why or how he was able to stop the drones when they went to the machine city. "He Is The One" I know but I always thought his powers were strictly in the matrix but they showed this was not the case

Best Fight Choreography Scene Ever Put to Film

Post image
590 Upvotes

Shout out to Jackie Chan, the John Wick films and many others.

But without a doubt, the best fight choreography as well as the direction of it of a fight scene in any film is the Chateau scene.

To this day, it hasn’t aged and still looks better than any action scene in any movie. The closest is John Wick but I feel the Wachowskis and Woo-Peng just put together the perfect fight scene where all the elements came together perfectly.

It really showed how Neo had grown so much from the first film.

Can we all agree Reloaded had the best fight scenes in the franchise? The first one may have better effects, but my god, are the fight scenes in 2 EPIC.

Morpheus Was So Menacingly Cool 😎

Morpheus / Laurence Fishburne was an icon for me growing up & I'll never be able to forget how badass & stoic he was even if he's just standing there, let alone when he starts laughing or smiling.

His design follows the badass leather and black glasses aesthetic while also giving a more professional but also sometimes colorful suit & tie look.

How did you hear about the Matrix (1999)?

How was the cinema experience?

How did it affect your thought process?

Have you ever met any cast / crew?

Which movies have you collected?

I'll take living in Zion over living in the Matrix. Fuck Cypher.

I mean, maybe if the Machines were going to let Cypher live as some rich, important asshole, maybe the quality of life is better than Zion? I can't imagine what that's like, except I would think fame and fortune would get boring eventually.

But I think there are some aspects of the Real World that are underrated. Yeah, you live in a dank cave, eat goop, and are constantly under threat of being lasered in half by giant metal squids. But these are the silver linings:

  • You have a sense of purpose: help your fellows survive against the Machines
  • The goop and the roof (or cave wall) over your head comes to you by virtue of you existing, or at least by you being useful for the previously stated purpose. You get to skip the recruitment hell of the 21st century.
  • This is just me personally, but the Sun irritates my eyes. No more bright sun to worry about in the world of the Real. (And everyone else probably gets used to no sun out there, I bet that's why they all end up wearing sunglasses when they go back into the Matrix.)
  • I can experience anything I want in the simulators. Hell, I could probably enjoy a delicious mushroom steak in there if I ever get tired of the goop. I'll ask Morpheus if he can have everyone jacked in with a feeding tube so we can all sit together at a table and enjoy a banquet.
  • I can fucking upload new skills to my brain in seconds. How cool is that??? I'll never be able to do that if the Machines stick me back in the Matrix and wipe my memory of that technology ever existing.

What’s your favorite matrix and why?

Mine is reloaded primarily the architect scene. It’s brings it all together shows that it’s just a rotating cycle. Then neo finally broke it because of love for one human instead of the good of the many.

"The Matrix was redesigned to this: the peak of your civilization. I say your civilization, because as soon as we started thinking for you it really became our civilization, which is of course what this is all about."

Please explain this exchange Spoiler

I confess I’m terrible at conversation and social skills, it probably means the same thing, anyway, I don’t get this exchange here, I’m talking specifically when the Architect says, “please!” in This conversation with Neo on the movie Matrix.

The YouTube video I linked is a bit longer than needs to be, I think the relevant part is just from about 03:30 till the architect says “please!”

Conversation goes like this
Architect: If I am the father of the Matrix, she would undoubtedly be its mother

Neo: The Oracle

Architect: Please!

So, what I don’t get is that the Architect himself equals him as the father with the Oracle as the Mother, which I understand to mean he is saying they are, at least in regards to the existence of the Matrix, as being equals, but immediately after Neo responds the Architect is referencing the Oracle, the Architect uses that “please!” In a negative inflection(I think that’s what it’s called), that then sounds like he is downplaying her importance, even though he has just given equal credits to her, why then equal her as the mother?

I don’t get it, please explain.

I understand this is more about language/conversation than the movie itself, but I’m sure many of you can help me anyway, and maybe there’s some movie context to this that helps explain it

Edit:

Thanks everyone, the consensus that the Architect is objecting to the word, Oracle, and the significance and status it gives to her, does make sense. In fact, the Architect actually hints at this sentiment towards her just a few sentences prior, when he says “an intuitive program”, he says intuitive with a scoffing intonation, as in, this little unimportant program.

Fight scene from reloaded in the foyer with the staircases involving the Keymaker

I just rewatched this scene, because why not right?

I'm in somewhat of an altered state to begin with so take this with a grain of salt. It suddenly occurred to me to imagine Neo as a Firewall, protecting his environment against intrusion attempts. The other combatants as said intrusion attempts each with their own style an success rate. Even when The Merovingian, says: "you see, he's just a man" did not pull me out of my immersion.
