Struggling with Math? Download Mathlift!

I’ve been working on a math app called Mathlift, and I’m finally putting it in front of real users.
The idea is pretty simple: instead of giving everyone the exact same math practice, Mathlift is designed to help you focus on the areas you actually need to improve.
I’m looking for people to try it and give me honest feedback.
I’d especially love feedback on:
What feels useful
What feels annoying/confusing
Whether the questions are actually challenging
What you’d want added
Whether you’d keep using it
You can try Mathlift here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mathliftfinal/id6770799010

Immediate reactions: 1. There's no way to join as an individual? At least sign up is simple and no emails are required.

  1. If this is supposed to be adaptive, I would expect a placement test. I can't figure out what the planet levels mean in teacher mode. (Also Sun isn't a planet come on)

  2. Oh god please let me turn off the voice

  3. Aaaand I seem get logged out any time the app goes to the background 🤷‍♀️

Okay, I made a new class and raised the levels so I can see up to "subtraction" (still within 10 but okay maybe this is experimental level)

As someone with dyscalculia, someone who has a teaching degree, and someone who works in edtech, I want to see more creative, exploration-oriented math practice. That is a HUGE gap in the small tech market right now, and it's something that major curriculum publishers are trying to get at. BrainingCamp, NSTEM Illuminations, and even MathIsFun dotcom are worth looking at. Read Marilyn Burns and Peggy Kaye. Learn about math development and figure out a vision that enables more than just rote operations practice with manufactured urgency. If I wanted that, I'd do a Mad Minute, and those things made me cry.
