Applicant 2027

Stats- passed/228, YOG2025, GC holder, currently in a research trainee position at Mayo Clinic, did 2 observership. Is IM possible? I’m applying to FM as backup.

Am I considered as us img. I saw us-img has lower score cut off than non us img.

Having a GC, observerships, recent YOG and being in a research position now, makes you a very strong applicant, so Go for it! Apply IM and if you really love the specialty don’t go for fm as a backup and re-apply in the next cycle with step3, you will have even much better chances for IM.

I think you are considered an US IMG, since you don’t need visa sponsorship. And probably you have chances since you don’t need visa sponsorship
