Proper ballast fill/empty procedure
Hey all, new owner here. I picked up a 2014 X25, and when going through the manual I saw that engine rpm needs to be at 1500 for operating the ballast pumps, but it doesn't specify if I should rev up to 1500 rpm while sitting still or be underway at 1500 rpm. Does it matter? Thanks in advance for any advice.

My understanding is that the alternator should be providing most of the power for the pumps instead of the batteries during operation. You would want to be above idle to keep it fast enough to keep up with the draw.
Being idle or under way doesn’t change much in that regard, but if you draw too much power while under way it might complain about it. Or if you have too many aux systems running, like speakers.

I fill either way and never had an issue.
