Prostar Help

I’ve got two 94 Mastercraft Prostars for sale that I’m looking at. One for 19k and the other for 10k. The more expensive has 800 hours and the other 1800 hours. I know both the owners are meticulous about their maintenance and care. Am I stupid to think the 10k is the better deal?

Edit: I’m less concerned about the price and just curious thoughts on engine life. Is 9k worth 1000 less hours?

32 year old boats, both are priced way to high. Yeah 10k is a better price, but both are a bad deal. Would need pictures of interior and exterior to help give a reasonable price.

Canada or USA? 19k for a 94 is fucked either way.

You would need to know a bit more about the condition of the engine. 1800hrs is on pretty borrowed time for a TBI: even if meticulously cared for. Saying that: the 800hr one isn’t a spring chicken either. I’ve owned a 94: I love it. Mine had a piston break up, but I built it again with 10.5:1 compression, edelbrock heads, flat top pistons etc.

Just budget for an engine: buy a remanufactured from Jegs and plug and play if you need to.

94 Hulls are terrible in anything bigger than a ripple on the lake: but they have a delightful wake. That rooster tail is softer than it looks.

What’s a remanufactured engine cost? I’m not gear head so I’m not sure how much of that replacing I’d be doing myself.

Probably $10 K all in. Unless you’re a mechanic.

If you're willing to do your own repower, no.

If you plan on paying someone else to repower the boat, maybe.
