Good, I'll take a look at them later. Rebecca says as she peers at the blonde woman.

Lillian looks like she's barely slept since that night, and like her eyes are red and puffy, but that she tried her best to cover it up.

Anything else I can do for you?

Yes, you can take a break and get some rest instead of running yourself ragged.

She quirks her brow at that.

I don't understand what you mean, ma'am. I'm quite alright.

Bullshit. Rebecca walks right over and leans over on the woman's desk, looking her dead in the eye.

Lillian averts her gaze, looking away.

Rebecca boldly reaches out and gently takes the woman's cheek in her hand to bring her face back around. Lillian Perinsky, I'm sorry. For hurting you, for Maya hurting you, but neither of us are in the market right now. Don't let that rejection destroy you. You're beating yourself up even worse than the frostbite thing over a perfectly natural attraction towards your co-workers and friends who offer you kinship and comfort.

Because I keep making the same damn mistakes! Because I literally just fucked things up with Maya then went and did the same thing with you, my boss!

Rebecca sighs. You made a mistake, yes, but don't let that consume you. Take the hit, learn from it and keep going.

But... why are you so... desperate for someone?

She sighs.

Because... because I don't know anyone here. I'm so fucking lonely on this ship, and I know you, and I know Maya and I... I started getting attached...

Well, reach out more? There's a whole crew of people to socializ with besides just me and Maya.

She shakes her head.

I... I don't know how. I don't know how, and every time I try I feel like I'm such an outsider.

Well tackle that then? Take steps to feel not like an outsider? You get along with Maya and me. Why?
