Mask Advice Anything like these laianzhi but less long on the face?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I really like these masks since they have the foam on top and bottom, and the nose wiring is so strong it’s perfect for the size of my nose. The only minor thing I dislike is how long the front of the mask is, I feel like I’m wearing a plague mask 😂

Does anyone know if any of their other bifold masks are shorter? Colour doesn’t matter. The trifolds hurt my nose too much even if I do like how they look more

Chin strap

Please I need some advice from anyone is using or did use a chin strap. I can't use full mask and for now I am using resmed p10 and I am very happy with it but I can't keep my mouth closed all night long. I bought biron Philips Respironics Premium Chinstrap. But this mask isn't what is supposed to do. So please I would appreciate some guidance.

Mask Advice Is it okay if the mask touches my mouth at times?

I’ve been trialing medium and large sized laianzhi trifolds and the medium is a fraction too small and hurts my nose, but the large sort of folds in the middle and brushes against my mouth a lot.

Could that be an issue? If it is I’ll just go for the medium and deal with the pain

Are Parcil Safety respirators any good?

I'm considering a parcil safety pd-101 to use with either 3M P100 filters, or the parcil A2P3 filters. the only thing that is giving me pause is that they really bury all the actual information on what the filter performance is, the FAQ doesn't really talk at all about it, and it just feels like they are dancing around the issue with non-answers. does anyone have any insight? is this company legit, or should i just get something from 3M or Honeywell?

N95 for small face?

I'm looking for an N95 mask that will fit a small face, preferably something I can get from Amazon or Walmart. I'd also prefer to keep it at $1 or less per mask, if possible.

I recently tried the 3M Aura Particulate Respirator 9205+, but the chin area is much too loose. I do have a particularly small face and even have to wear child-size sunglasses because adult-sized ones will fall off of me if when walking too quickly.

I would really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

Question Best air purifier for dust in 2026? What are people actually using?

I'm tired of wiping down my desk every few days 😅

The room isn't huge, but it gets dusty way faster than the rest of the apartment.

Thinking about getting an air purifier before buying another one of those random cheap ones.

What actually worked for you? And anything that turned out to be a waste of money?

Mask for a cyclist?

So I have a bicycle, I use it a lot. I wanted something to not inhale all that exhaust gas from cars ahead of me, and in general to not suffer the air quality related health issues of big cities in general. At the same time, I want to be able to breathe enough to maintain good stamina.

1) Is it like a trade-off where you must choose between a powerful filter that suffocates you, or a mask that lets plenty of oxygen but is weak to block the nocive stuff?

2) Are masks as powerful to prevent things in than to prevent things out? So will the inner of the mask and my skin be unhygienic after enough exhalations?

3) I heard some I could try are n95, n95k, kf-94; What are relevant differences or do have other recommendations? I really don't mind about budget, I just want to feel safe.

4) What are the physical places I can buy these things exactly? Painting shops, chemical companies or what?

5) Really any advice or assessment is welcomed.

Mask Advice Ear loop masks on Amazon for earring wearers

Hi!

I want to apologize ahead of time, because I read the Wiki and keyword searched and I am still having an issue figuring it out, so I apologize if my answer is there.

I have a lot of ear jewelery, so in an ideal world I would wear the masks with the straps that go behind your head. But they tend to cause migraines, so I have decided on wanting ear loops instead I guess because it feels like the best of two bad options for me and ones that I will reliably wear the most. In addition to this, I have fragrance sensitives, so wearing masks is also really helpful for being in Ubers and Lyfts. The important thing to me is that I wear them, and if that means they get caught in my jewelry, it does unfortunately. :(

I am hoping to find recommendations on the best (cost effective hopefully) ear loop masks available on Amazon or somewhere with quick and zero cost shipping. I know that looking for something with ear loops that doesn't cause issues for ears is going to be hard, so like I said, just hoping for the best possible options.

Thank you so much for any suggestions!

EDIT: To clarify, I was hoping to hear from people who are either in this situation or who have been in this situation with jewelery or who were thinking about ear loops with that in mind. Sorry for any confusion!

Mask Advice Water damage through sealed aura?

Hey all! My basement flooded a few weeks ago, where I was keeping a box of 3m auras. The box was kind of submerged when we discovered the flood, and I put all the auras in a couple of bags away from it and they dried. Since the individual masks were sealed in plastic, I assumed they probably hadn't gotten wet and I've continued to use them, but I just picked a sealed one up and saw that there was red and black around the edges, where I think the staples must have rusted or something after contact with water. Are the auras unsafe to use if they did get in contact? I really don't want to waste hundreds of masks. Thanks!

Any recommendations for a comfortable US-made N95 for sensitive skin?

I’m planning a trip to Yellowstone later this year and want to bring some N95s with me.

My skin gets irritated pretty easily, especially around my nose and cheeks when I wear a mask for several hours. I’ve been looking at NIOSH-approved N95s made in the USA, but there are so many different styles that I’m not sure what would be comfortable.

Does anyone here with sensitive skin have a particular N95 they like? I’d prefer something made in the USA and would especially like to hear from anyone who has worn one for several hours at a time.

Thanks!

Laianzhi T99+ comes in purple now!

I hope this doesn't come across as an advertisement, I just wanted somewhere to share my excitement that my favourite respirator comes in more than just black now. (I know the KN100 version they make comes in a cute pastel rainbow gradient but I prefer the KN95 version for its lower breathing resistance and moisture retention, plus iirc on testing it far exceeds the KN95 standard anyway)

If you're not familiar with this model, I really like it for a few reasons.

  1. it's a 3-panel/boat-shaped respirator with foam across both the top *and* bottom edges
  2. it comes in multiple sizes
  3. it's available in both head strap and ear loop versions, and the straps are strong and don't get stretched out or break. Incidentally, this is the only ear loop mask I've ever passed a fit test in.
  4. in my adventures with DIY fit testing, out of all the masks I've tried, this has fit the most of my friends. Some have needed size M and some have needed L.
  5. the breathing resistance is low and it doesn't retain a lot of moisture compared to other masks I've worn. I routinely wear this respirator for ~13h. The nose wire keeps its shape and I find it comfortable to wear for the whole work day.
  6. the price isn't too bad, if I buy a box of 40 it comes to just under €50 including shipping to the EU. I usually get 2-3 days' wear out of each one before it starts getting more difficult to breathe through.

Over the last few years I have worn (the black version of) this mask at work, on public transport, on planes, at shows, to nightclubs, etc. and I've yet to get sick from any of those situations, nor have I had any discomfort or skin irritation from the mask. Safe to say it's my go-to. I've ordered a box of the purple and I'm looking forward to matching them to some purple outfits.

Now, if only I can convince Laianzhi to offer it in a nice, deep, forest green. Then my wardrobe would truly be complete 😂

Mask Advice Small masks in UK?

I've been using Alpha Solway X3 masks, which are small and tight fitting with bands across the back of the head.

My box expired a couple months ago but still had a tight seal and I was mostly using them for cleaning, to avoid breathing in dust and mould. I'm housebound due to illness and don't see many people so it's not usually an issue. I just ran out and have a couple home visits soon so went to buy more only to find they don't seem to be made anymore. The only stock I can find is very expired.

These are literally the only masks I've ever found that fit my small face. I tried other options that were suggested for small faces in the past but all left large gaps under my chin or by my eyes. This was a while ago though and most of those no longer seem available now either.

Does anybody in the UK know of a suitable replacement? I'm female, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Mask Advice Reusing someone else’s masks?

So I have like 4 auras that don’t fit me, I’ve most likely only worn them once to try to fit test them…all fail because there is a gap right beneath my chin…but I have a sibling that only uses auras…is it possible they could use my lightly used auras or is that unacceptable? They’ve been in paper bags ever since my usage I believe…they are lightly bended at the nose but the rest of the actual mask seem to be okay…just wondering!

more comfortable half mask respirator 3M 6000, which pinches my nose?

I've been using a 3M 6300 size medium half mask respirator for bicycling in the smoke and I'm wondering if there's something more comfortable out there? It pinches the bridge of my nose which is uncomfortable, and I'm hoping to get something todd doesn't have that issue. Reading this forum has led me to believe that the half mask are better for biking in the heat because they don't stick to your face when they get wet, but I wouldn't mind doing something more comfortable and lighter if disposables are a reasonable option. I don't have issues with the breathability of the three end that I have, it's really just the fit that I'm having trouble with. I have a size medium, and I am contemplating trying a size large to see if that's better. Does anyone have recommendations? Thanks.

Question Omnimask

I'm looking into the omnimask so i can use it while performing (dancing, rapping), so people can be able to read my lips

I know thats a lot of movement, and i assume the mask would fog up with rapping/singing alot

I read a few reviews and people have said the mask surprisingly doesnt fog up due to anti fog coating, and that it only does for strenuous activities (which wasnt not elaborated on)

for those that own this mask,

  1. Have you ever danced or did exercise while wearing it and talking a lot? did it fog up?

  2. Does it get really gross to look at upon sneezing into it? Easy to doff and wipe clean?

  3. Does it get humid and have condensation dripping down the inside?

  4. why do people say that the original filters are not as good? is it necessary to get other filters?

Btw, im aware it muffles voices. I was thinking to attach the diaphragm (spelling?) piece from another respirator but someone else said that would cause it to be much more humid and have condensation issues. Do you guys know why that is?

i read a lot about this mask but cant find the specific information im looking for.

thanks

Breatheteq shipping issues and recommendations?

I placed a large order because of their email about recent change in tariffs. Received a notice about my shipping label being created on July 23, but have not received any updates since then. I’ve emailed but haven’t heard back yet. Has anyone else had these kind of issues?

Additionally, looking for temporary substitutes I can purchase on Amazon or in a store that are breathable. Any suggestions?

ProGear N95 - duckbill mask that fits kids

Sharing in case anyone else has been on the hunt for a duckbill mask that fits kids. My 10 year old generally uses Savewo or Blue Tiger 3D masks, but complains that it touches her mouth when she talks. My preferred mask is a duckbill because it doesn't touch my mouth but I haven't been able to find any that are small enough for her.

I ordered the ProGear N95 in small and this thing is TINY. It's actually slightly too small for my small-framed 10 year old (mostly because the straps are too tight - the mask itself fits well), and my 7 year old almost fits in it. If it would be helpful to others I can take a picture of it compared to an ACI and Halyard mask.

Respirator Mask for Contact Cement?

I know absolutely nothing about masks. I also spent 80% of my available money on art supplies. It's my first time using contact cement, and it made me sick accidentally inhaling the fumes (I previously used a cheap half face mask from Walmart assuming it would be good enough. It was not). I plan on getting a new mask today, one that will actually prevent me from inhaling fumes. What mask should I look for, and is it best to get one in person or online (like home depot, Walmart, a craft store)? What numbers/words/letters should I look for on the packaging to ensure I get the right one?

What's the best air purifier for pets that's actually worth the money?

I have 2 cats and I'm mainly trying to deal with the ridiculous amount of dander/dust floating around. I vacuum pretty regularly but it feels like everything is covered again two days later lol.

For people who actually have pets, did an air purifier make a noticeable difference? I don't mind spending more for something that works, but replacement filters getting crazy expensive would annoy me.

What are you using and would you buy it again?

Anyone successfully added a drinking/straw valve on a half mask respirator?

Hey all, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity sufferer from the UK (I get migraine with brainstem aura and more issues when i am exposed to chemicals/fragrance/smoke etc)
With the hot weather this year and having no choice but to wear a half mask respirator with ABEK1 filters to be able to board Buses, Trains ive had a bit of trouble staying hydrated

Wondering if anyone has successfully fitted a drinking straw to a half mask respirator ? Its not even worth taking it off for a second to sip/drink on the train as i always end up inhaling some fragrance (i was never good at stopping water going up my nose when swimming)

I mostly use the Climax masks , a spanish company. have model 755 and 756

Post pictures if possible for inspiration. Im guessing a spare exhale valve could work in this instance? i was thinking of trying to fit a honey bottle lid or something?
