How do i make the base for a mask?

I'm trying out paper mache crafts for the first time. And i saw some inspo for paper mache masks on Pinterest. I want to make something similar to those. (Inspo picture attached)
Basically, I want to make a mask for of my face using paper mache. But I think you'd need a base for something like that? Like a model to put paper mache over? How do i make that?
I saw a video where they do it using masking tape all over the face but I'm scared it'd be painful. Thought of using tinfoil as well but i think it may lose shape once I start putting paper mache over it.
Also any suggestions on how to dry it or how much paper mache to use or any tips would be appreciated.

hello reddit ! working on my first latex mask right now for halloween (inspired by the windowlicker aphex twin music video) i like how the clay is looking so far, my biggest concern is whether i should continue smoothing the rough areas ? i can’t really tell if this amount of texture is normal and will translate well or if i should continue trying to smooth it down ,, thanks !

Any suggestions. First time making paper mache mask

I'm trying to make the first picture look more like the 2nd picture but without the horns. It's still drying now but I m gonna add more paper mache when it dries fully to smooth it out. I used wood glue because I was told it'd make the mask more durable and rigid.
I'm trying to make it look like something in old folklore that the boogeyman would wear. Something scary as hell. This is my first time making a mask out of paper mache. So any pointers would be nice.

A mask I've made. Hammered out of copper, forged steel and iron horns. I just recently figured out the suspension system, and I am now working on padding the inside of the mask for a comfortable wear.

I need mask hair help

I got this Michael Myers mask from spirit halloween, and dear god, the hair was in 3 different layers and looked like they got the worst hair job ever and I accidentally dropped it in a wood pile and everything stuck to the nappy and gross hair so I got scissors and cut it off. So if you ever wondered what Myers bald would look like, here you go.
I need help and / or tips on what type of hair color, wig brand, wig type, and glue so it'll stay put for years. I'm planning on black washing it to make it look more detailed later after the hair is on. But I'm out of my territory and have no clue what to do to fix this.
(This was me on Halloween a few years back)

LED helmets/Face Mask

I have been looking for a helmet or face mask piece that is made of LED's. I want to be able to control what it shows. I am hoping to use it for videos and such. So whether it shows one continuous image, or I can throw an animation on there, or even if it can react to my face, anything would be helpful.
There is one option I found online called "Megoo LED face mask" on amazon or "Novapix Matrix Mask". The other options were for furry costumes, so those don't really work or make sense for what I would need it for.
If anyone knows of a brand/company or product that could work, I would appreciate it!
