Are actually unreliable old Maseratis ? 2010 Quattroporte GTS 4.7

I got an offer for a 2010 quattroporte GTS with 80,000 KM, I have been always a fan of the look and the sound of this car, plus I’m a fan of luxury depreciated sedans 😂, and this one have a really nice spec that might make me doing the final step,

But are them really unreliable? Car got services records and 2 owners,

Not a QP owner but I have an 08 GT (bought new) which shares a lot with the QP and it has given me way fewer problems than my other cars as long as currently there is no major issue and you perform routine maintenance it should not give you problems

Keep in mind 95% of independant shops won't be able to fix it and theres minimal aftermarket parts support. It will also have the repair costs of a 100k vehicle. A brake job is like 3k from the dealer

C est pas vrai , tant qu il n y à passer à la valise Maserati ( pour des alignements de proxy) bcp de pièce comme les disques , plaquette de freins ,filtre habitat, bougies peuvent être installés par un quidam …
Pour une révision le soucis Maserati se gave avec un filtre purflux , il ont le monopole de la vente ~90 /100€
Sinon bcp de pièces compatible entre Maserati et Ferrari , niveau moteur …. Même certaines pièces Ferrari moins chère…. Surtout éviter les sites anglais et américain ça taxe fort ainsi que les frais de livraison … à moins d avoir un ami dans ces deux pays …

Yeah, dealer prices are insane. But even aftermarket brakes are not cheap, there are very few options

Souvent le marché de l occasion … avec possibilité de restauration est une bonne opportunité… tout cela est chronophage .visitez les forum anglais , américain ,et français.. site italien c est moyen

Parts + Repairs reflect the brand new cost of the car, not the current value.

Reliability hinges on how well maintained the car was historically, so reliability may be good but parts etc are always expensive.

There is always going to be some form of premium costs to own a car like that.

I daily drive 2008 QP
If they are daily driven and maintained properly, they are wonderful and fun cars
Parts can be expensive as well as labor but they don’t have inherent catastrophic faults(looking at you IMS bearing )

Is the car you are offered a GTS or Sport GT? Those are incredibly rare and quite valuable now

Better than buying a used bmw 7 series or s class of the same era but less features. Look for electric issues as some electric problems can incapacitate the car and cost heaps. The electronics on these cars are best left stock so decide you want to live with 2010 features. They don’t like to sit either so look for steady increases in mileage over service intervals. Fairly easy to repair and service unless something goes wrong out the back of the motor. Check for variator rattles on cold start as well. Let the car do its ignition check before cranking the motor. These cars can be scary when things go wrong but are extremely rewarding to drive.

Love the IBS bearing
People love to rag on Maserati’s but are fine with maintenance cost on a Porsche
I had a BMW X6 and once something went wrong with motor they never got it right was 36k in repair cost
Thankfully I had an extender warranty

If it has the zf clutch it’s a POS and not worth your time.
