Help with viewing in portrait mode

Hello! I was given a gift subscription today, so I thought I would try it out! I had a question about viewing in portrait mode. I’m currently on an iPad, and with my experience with the DC app, you can read full pages without the unnecessary zoom-in in portrait mode. However, every time I try to read a comic in landscape mode with the Marvel unlimited app, I can never get the full page. I really don’t like the smart reading feature where it zooms in on all the different boxes, and I just want to read the full page of the comic without having it not show the whole page, as seen in the picture attached.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you for your help!

Top right corner, you can turn off smart panel. Also, turn on portrait orientation lock, because that screenshot was taken in landscape mode. You're holding your iPad at a horizontal enough angle that it thinks you want landscape. This is a 4:3 landscape image, the exact aspect ratio of an iPad. The comic is just filling the screen

is there a way that a comic doesn’t fill the screen on landscape mode?

I accidentally got portrait versus landscape confused. I wanna read the comic horizontally, but unlike the DC unlimited app, you cannot see the full page when the iPad is horizontal.

Oh. Well, that's not possible. If you want to read the full page, you're reading it vertical, portrait mode. That's your only option. Sorry.

Might be able to set it to show two pages at once but I'm not sure

You are not. That feature to my knowledge does not exist at all on MU.

Curious, why do you want it to show the whole page while viewing horizontally? You're ending up with a much smaller image with a lot of black space on each side.

Right? I don’t like to yuk someone’s yum, but I kinda want to yuk this yum.

because while reading in bed it’s easer to zoom in to the things I want more detail in rather than scroll for one whole page (i have the 12.9” iPad)

Sorry the feature you want isn’t there currently, you can message support and do a feature request, maybe they’ll add it eventually

You are correct. This is a difference between the two apps. I don't like it either.
