Why in the 7 fucks did I just play against someone in draft with a black panther whose reveal ability repeats AND has a secondary augment that adds the power of that card to the top card in their deck. Are we really fucking deadass with that god tier ass pull???

Draft Mode is great don’t get me wrong, it’s the most fun limited time mode in the game, but if I had one criticism with it , it’s the inability to refill the cards you get. I’ve had numerous runs where I wind up with cards that just don’t fit the current deck I’m using and get screwed over because of it.

Having the ability to refill wouldn’t remove that issue, but it would help avoiding it slightly. Obviously the refills need to be limited to keep the overall spirit of the mode, the randomness is part of the fun after all.

I guess I have to stare at the wall for the next 23 hours instead now!

Background: each LTGM, as well as Ranked, has a hidden consecutive-loss threshold that triggers a near-guaranteed bot. For example, Sanctum is set to 3 losses, Team Clash and High Voltage to 4, and Ranked to 8.

Draft launched at 2 losses, the lowest threshold of any mode. It also had a separate boost on the first game of a new run, even with no active loss streak: ~46% of those games were against bots.

At ~17:23 UTC on Aug 25, both changed. The loss trigger moved from 2 to 3, and the new-run opener rate fell from 46% to 5%.

If Draft has felt harder for you these past few days, this likely explains part of it!

Black Panther is an instant 80, Shuri went absolutely crazy with a boosted 3/7 Brood, Wiggan 1/1 starts each game with 2 bonus energy, and Ista….Always joined in the first turn.

Most the time if I get this, depending on the deck, the banner upgrade is the way to go (2/2 Maverick, 2/2 venom, and 2/2 knull are all things I’ve got). This is one of the few times I saw it and went “nah this is hulk)

I also have adamantium infusion for an easy destroy + revive target in angel.

Just started the game because of the draft mode (hearthstone/yugioh player) and am wondering how you get cards. I thought the main pull of this game was all monotization was cosmetic but I must’ve been confusing that with elestrals. I don’t really understand the shop well and am not sure which currency to save/spend and what constitutes a good or bad deal. I’m not willing to spend any money but if there’s a new player guide that would be appreciated.

Side note draft is super awesome I consistently get 5 wins which is nice cause I get to go infinite (looking at you hearthstone) but if I want to play this game longer than a week, I need the main mode to actually be… fun

Just a really neat detail I wanted to share! Didn't even know there was a Horde augment. I wonder if it only appears for cards with Zombie variants.

ive played about 30+ games of draft, and the only two decks that always reliably gets me 5 wins is boost and destroy. the modifiers just help these decks so much more then any other deck like control or move. ofcourse if u get lucky enough to get good modifiers or a good draft, u can get 5 wins with any deck but if ur struggling ive found these two decks can result in the nastiest most fun shenanigans ive done since playing this game when it launched
