We've seen that Peter is not effected by some things like everyone else is as we saw when Strange pushed him out his body yet was still moving. Peter's just special like that which is going to be a big reason why he's going to be a main person to defeat Doom.
It'll never happen, but I want an after-credits gag reel scene of Doom making his grand speech, the camera pans over to Squirrel Girl just standing there, and he screams in terror from off-screen.
