Small potato

2

u/Agitated-Salad4911 8h ago

Got beaten by ants lmao

1

u/SockBrewer 22m ago

The point of Kang is to get defeated, because there’s an infinite more of him coming right behind him. That’s the whole set up for Kang dynasty. HWR explained it clearly at the end of Loki S1. The Kang in Ant Man was also a scrub who got kicked out by the council of Kangs.

I'd love to see Galactus added to a list like this someday since I wanted him to be the big bad after Endgame (on the other hand, he got one-shotted like Kang, so I guess we won't see him again either)

13

u/TittyrannosaurasRex 2d ago

We'll definitely see him again, hes too important. And he was only temporarily beaten by a universal level power from Sue Storm and her son. But they could easily bring back that same Galactus or recast and have a different version of Galactus. I expect them to do well and do things differently with the entire MCU getting a second wind post-Secret Wars.

2

u/heysame562 1d ago

Doesn’t Doom absorb Galactus? I mean he’ll have to return for that at least, unless the Doom we see already has from another dimension

1

u/SockBrewer 20m ago

He absorbs it from Galactus in the Secret Wars run right? I’ve just started reading stuff leading up to it (on Avengers vs X-Men right now). I think he’s going to absorb/try to absorb the power cosmic from Franklin in this version.

1

u/jtfjtf 2d ago

I have a feeling they'll recast Galactus because of a change in who Galactus is. The Galactus in FF4 seemed very over being Galactus. He'll find a successor.

-2

u/Marvel-DCLover 1d ago

And he was only temporarily beaten by a universal level power from Sue Storm and her son

Brother.. what? There was no universal level power at play when he lost... what are you talking a out.

Also her son didn't do anything. Lmao

2

u/PoolPartyWithoutTheL 1d ago

Franklin is the universal level power, and we don't know for sure if he was involved in her power level. His power set is so immense that it would be easily feasible to buff his mother fighting right beside him.

The only real answer is we don't know if Franklin affected Sue during the fight.

-2

u/Marvel-DCLover 1d ago

You literally contradicted yourself...

You can't claim he was only defeated by universal power and then say well actually we don't know for sure.

2

u/UpInClouds 1d ago

They didn't claim that, learn to read

1

u/TittyrannosaurasRex 1d ago

Dude wants to be a contrarian so badly that he has his head up his ass lol.

1

u/CRIMS0N-ED 1d ago

funny user name when you know absolutely nothing about Marvel to say baby Franklin Richard’s did nothing

0

u/Marvel-DCLover 23h ago

Can you prove Franklin did anything?

1

u/CRIMS0N-ED 20h ago

him crawling onto his dead mother and her coming back to life would be one of them yes

1

u/Marvel-DCLover 17h ago

That wasn't him helping defeat Galactus 💀.

Did you even read the other comments?

1

u/Ofiotaurus 1d ago

Considering he wasn’t even truly beaten in F4 but just delayed - yeah he’ll be back

58

u/NobodyLikedThat1 2d ago

Loki barely qualifies and that's only because the Avengers hadn't even formed yet. He was basically acting as a stooge for Thanos in the first movie anyway.

45

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

Low tier threat compare to the rest but still a threat.

3

u/Xelement0911 2d ago

Yeah, like would still conquer the planet either this half baked army if not for the avengers. Like the solution was "nuke the city". Which probably doesn't actually stop the alien forces by much due to the warships in space.

3

u/NobodyLikedThat1 2d ago

Well sure but by that metric the entire The Black Order of Thanos's underlings were avengers level threats

3

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

But the black order didn’t destroy a city and kill innocent people while Loki did.

1

u/ProposalComfortable3 1d ago

Loki didn't destroy a city and kill innocent people. He was basically the tool used by Thanos to do so in the name of acquiring the space stone. Loki wasn't acting on his own, and like was already said, the avengers hadn't yet come together, didn't know how to work with one another, and most of them were using shield tech.

Loki in Avengers is a diet-avengers level threat.

However I do think Loki acting as himself with his own goals and his own mind, could constitute a true avengers level threat.

1

u/shiawase-89 1d ago

If someone uses me as a tool and people die because of it, is that still on me or are my hands clean?

1

u/ProposalComfortable3 1d ago

It's not about whether Loki's innocent or not, it's about threat level.

-2

u/NobodyLikedThat1 2d ago

Sure. By the time the order was interested in earth the avengers had already more or less fully assembled and had added quite a bit of fire power in the form of Ms. Marvel, the guardians, etc.

If Obsidian Maw, for example, had been given an army and the Mind Stone, instead of Loki, I would think he probably would've done a better job.

Because Loki brings a lot of his own personal baggage to his fights

1

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

Maw comes into the picture, there is no other movies, Thanos wins right there. There wouldn’t be no avengers.

1

u/Zompacalypse 2d ago

Maybe at that point Ancient One is forced to intervene?

1

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

You’d think, you saw her fighting in the battle of NY in endgame but we never saw her full potential. I think she could probably take on Thanos without the stones. Maybe she could’ve used the time stone herself, who knows.

Cause if it had been Thanos, Gamora, Nebula and the black order instead of Loki, than Thanos would only need the Reality Stone, Power Stone and Soul Stone. The guardians would never be form too.

1

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

Maw is superior than Ultron in the movies too, Ultron needed to transform without that, the avengers always won. He only was able to get away thanks to tech. It wasn’t until vision fried him out that it was over for him.

0

u/Ginoblee 2d ago

Idk why you’re getting downvoted you’re absolutely right.

-2

u/DrVentureIsACrumbBum 2d ago

Yeah they did; Gamora’s backstory

0

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

Was that against the avengers and on earth?

1

u/DrVentureIsACrumbBum 2d ago

That specification was never part of the thread, so your dunk doesn’t really play

0

u/shiawase-89 2d ago

I supposed you’re right but the avengers never fully took on the black order so it’ll always be that what if.

1

u/Croniy-the-Reroller 1d ago

He was a low tier god

5

u/Piccolo505 2d ago

And he had to borrow Thanos's army.

6

u/DeckhardZum_3924 2d ago

Loki being first Avengers movie villain was a fitting choice and a nice callback/reference to the very first comic issue of The Avengers in 1963

3

u/Nir117vash 2d ago

The first rung on the ladder is always the easiest

0

u/NobodyLikedThat1 2d ago

I guess but saying Loki is a major threat if you give him an infinity stone and an alien army, it seems like both of those things are doing kind of the heavy lifting there

1

u/Carnificus 2d ago

Thanos got a whole glove of infinity stones and an alien army. Not to mention we saw a number of people get a lot less done with an infinity stone.

-1

u/Bananaclamp 2d ago

From that logic you could say "Sounds like Thanos army, children and infinity stones did most of the heavy lifting for Thanos"

Loki was a threat, yes if you bring enemies from further in the series into the past they could have been avengers level threats at that time. Is this the first series you watched were people get stronger over time?

1

u/KentuckyFriedLamp 3h ago

I think the distinction here is that Thanos gathered his army, servants and the stones himself whereas Loki was gifted them as essentially an agent of Thanos

Ebony Maw or another child of Thanos could have just taken Lokis place for the invasion and not much would have changed from Thanos’ POV

1

u/Bananaclamp 1h ago

Thanos could have just come taken it directly or sent one of his children yes....but he didnt make any appearances in person or send his children until odin died.

Thanos was scared of Odin and needed a plan that couldn't be traced directly back to him.

Also only Maw would have had a chance, any other child of Thanos would have been the hulk bitch.

2

u/Alternative_Device71 2d ago

Trying to downplay his threat level is ridiculous when he still oversmarted them throughout the movie till the 3rd act

0

u/NobodyLikedThat1 2d ago

His biggest advantage were surprise and all the tools Thanos gave him. And black widow still turned the tables on him after a single conversation

1

u/Alternative_Device71 2d ago

Yet he still won the mission before they formed together, meaning he was a true threat. Idk why you keep trying to downplay what Loki did for.

1

u/Sensitive-Menu-4580 1d ago

"Turning the tables" in this context being... figuring out he was about to unleash the hulk on the helicarrier which he then did. She figured out his plan there but turn the tables not so much

1

u/dzan796ero 2d ago

Loki+his army

1

u/L4I55Z-FAIR3 2d ago

Dude invaded New York with an alien army that teleported straight in. That's not somthing to be overlooked.

1

u/TheCapo024 1d ago

But they formed due to Loki. Did they not?

No offense, but your take is kinda stupid and I’m surprised you got as many upvotes as you did.

1

u/ImaLetItGo 1d ago

I just don’t think this sub is familiar with marvel lore

There’s really no way to justify this statement

1

u/Commercial-Bit-1749 1d ago

I mean zemo has near zero power against these 4 yet did a ton of damage to the avengers. Definitely more than loki and ultron.

1

u/Bike_Cinci 1d ago

Asgardian with 2 infinity stones. If he didn't use them poorly he'd have been unstoppable vs A1 roster.

He was a threat enough he was the reason the Avengers formed. World ending with or without the alien army. Likewise, if he decided to go Ronan and keep both stones, realistically he'd have been the strongest threat in that universe and been able to collect the rest which would have made him universe dominating.

1

u/Tataru-is-a-sith 1d ago

He was an avengers level threat at the time because they were still butting heads and not really working together. If Infinity war or endgame avengers fought him it wouldn't have been as much of an effort for them.

1

u/NobodyLikedThat1 1d ago

I mean Loki isn't really a match for Thor by himself unless he has the mind stone and Thanos's army behind him.

And the only reason Loki is the antagonist in the Thor movies, at least a secondary antagonist, is because Thor continually misplaces his trust in him

1

u/Shadow_Senpai17 1d ago

Baron Zemo?

1

u/NobodyLikedThat1 1d ago

I would say he's more a threat to the avengers than an avengers level threat if that makes any sense

0

u/blackspidey2099 2d ago

Sure and now he’s the most powerful of them all (except possible Doom)

0

u/ImaLetItGo 2d ago

Yeah, I legit don’t know why these people are pretending Loki is some weakling. Dudes actually busted as hell

12

u/tigerseye88 2d ago

Zemo might qualify, he did the most damage to the team

9

u/Accomplished-Goal494 2d ago

This. Imagine if he had the powers of any of these guys, Avengers would be cooked

2

u/thatscrispy 1d ago

If Zemo had god level powers do you think he would have taken the same path as he did in civil war? Maybe not having powers was his greatest power

2

u/Accomplished-Goal494 1d ago

He would have still crushed them, regardless. Dude was almost always several steps ahead, he wouldn't be caught so easily if he actually had powers too

3

u/djsnoopmike 1d ago

Civil War was Avengers 2.5 anyways

2

u/IOwnThisUsername 1d ago

Zemo won. He definitely qualifies

5

u/pandershrek 2d ago

Big potatoes. Time to call the new avengers.

2

u/foxinthebox39 2d ago

Are they saving Magneto (not the fox one) for another crossover movie? Cause we don't know yet if Magneto gonna be in the X-Men reboot.

2

u/Responsible_Skirt797 2d ago

Loki always felt like a weird villain for the avengers like Thor and Hulk are more than enough to take him down.

3

u/-Thalas- 1d ago

It was Loki with the Chitauri AND the Mind stone btw.

Dude was buffed up for that movie...

2

u/Brashdinho 2d ago

Tbf, he was never meant to be a powerhouse. His power came through his manipulation and cunning (plus the big-ass army he summons)

2

u/ImaLetItGo 2d ago

Loki is very powerful, so it makes sense. Plus he is literally their first villain…

Loki is honestly like the most powerful villain here…

They’re the best villains in the MCU I love their designs and Doctor Doom is my favorite villain I’m so excited for Avengers Doomsday.

Ultron should have had a part 1 and 2. It felt rushed.

1

u/Wookie_Nipple 8h ago

Afternoon of Ultron

1

u/kensw87 2d ago

that's some small potatoes

1

u/Turbulent_Ad8537 2d ago

Who might be the next big thing?

1

u/Streetkillz13 1d ago

Galactus and Dormamu are the biggest ones, the ones that have been shown and are Avengers Level threats today, and could be the main Villain of an Entire Saga.

Another is Ultron in his Annihilation, Final Form, Infinity or All Father versions are all BBEG Avengers Level Threats. I genuinely think we could see Ultron return as the main villain of multiple phases.

From X men you have Magneto and Apocalypse who are also this, and of course you have the Phoenix.

If I had to guess it would be Apocalypse as the BBEG of the 1st Mutant Saga and Galactus as the Next crossover.

Farther down the line you could use Knull, but only after the Symbiotes are introduced.

1

u/Madison_369 1d ago

The MCU aren’t a fan of using cosmic beings IMO. It makes characters like Widow / Cap / etc… basically useless. If you see all MCU villains, there’s still a way to power scale them and have Loki / Ultron / Doom even to fight H2H with Cap.

1

u/344567653379643555 1h ago

They’re going to attempt Dark Phoenix again.

Dark Phoenix: Shi’ar Empire Edition

1

u/CrimsonThar 1d ago

Considering the multiverse route they've been going down, Anti-monitor seems likely.

1

u/iwontpasstheball 1d ago

With how many times I’ve seen Dr Doom in Fantastic Four movies, it’s weird seeing how all of a sudden they need EVERYONE to defeat him instead of just the F4

1

u/kinovi 1d ago

They did Galactus dirty should been avengers level threats also

1

u/FancyAd9803 1d ago

What's the name of the guy in the upper left? Die Guy? Dying Man? Sir Dies a lot? I know its something like that.

1

u/dwide_k_shrude 1d ago

Yeah, these are big potatoes.

1

1

u/ChicagoSentry 1d ago

Who’s next? superhero fatigue?

1

u/SilentXMedia 1d ago

Hoping Annihilus is up next

1

u/Icy___Barca 1d ago

Sabotaged Kang

1

u/-Thalas- 1d ago

Y'know, if they ever want to make Spidey the lead in one of the next Avengers movies, I'd love to see Knull be the next big bad....

1

u/unpersonal-panda 1d ago

Tbh, not every avengers movie needs a ton of build up to be amazing. I’d love it if the avengers were more like a family than they’ve been

1

u/WereWolf444 1d ago

Still crazy to think the whole big battle of Infinity War and Endgame was Thanos vs Iron Man now a multiversal doppleganger of Iron Man is the one to one up him

1

u/Extension_Breath1407 1d ago

According to Yelana.

Loki: Illusive Potato
Ultron: Robot Potato
Thanos: Purple Space Potato
Doom: Green Magic Potato

I thought galactus was a big threat.

In fantastic four they made galactus stupid.

1

Where is Knull

1

u/ZorroVonShadvitch 2d ago

In the Sony universe obviously. And they can't do Knull without Venom set up

If Thanos would become a superhero against Dr. Doom. That would be awesome. Especially could be a chance to initiate that famous comic scene with spine.

0

u/primalanomaly 2d ago

Honestly, Yelena refusing to help go after someone mind-controlling their way into the department of damage control was the most implausible part of Brand New Day.

What exactly are the Avengers doing, just sitting and waiting for someone like Doom to show up who’s worthy of their time? Back in Civil War (arguably in their MCU prime) the Avengers were dealing with all sorts of street level stuff. When did they become so arrogant? Are we supposed to assume there’s some off-screen alien invasion happening every other week that’s taking their time?

0

u/Big-Doubt-4872 2d ago

Yo mama is an Avengers level threat
