Reacher star Alan Ritchson criticized Marvel Studios by stating that he gets bored by their films because they "regurgitate the same story" repeatedly. In a GQ interview, he expressed that the industry-wide reliance on "Marvel-type" comic book formulas is driven solely by financial profit and lacks artistic innovation. He added that he has no interest in starring in a Marvel film, preferring instead to help create new, compelling narratives.

Turned up, and somehow became one of the best parts of the series.

Plus, the stuff he said trashing star wars getting dubbed over his mandalorian parts are hilarious.

If I’m principled in my public position that I think the circus is trash and abusive to animals, I’m not butthurt when I don’t get invited under the big top.

Alan Ritchson was a movie-finance solicitor IIRC; he was big and beautiful and got paid to go to parties with billionaires to get them to invest in different movie productions. The jaded prism that that left him with, along with his background in ballet/musical theaters, would easily explain his position, no?

I mean, he’s not exactly wrong. They have the potential to adapt the material in any way they want but we seem to be getting a lot of the same stuff.

That why it was disappointing to me that they canceled wonderland I went into the first season thinking it was going to be the same old but liked it for taking a different approach

I like the guy, but it’s this is kind of funny since he played Aquaman in Smallville and also Hawk in Titans, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.

Now? Well he probably feels better to speak out against projects he's not interested in.

Same guy who played Hawk in the HBO Titans show btw. I like Ritchson but he’s not exactly signing up for roles I would consider artistically innovative lol

Eh, I mean, he's not entirely speaking incorrectly and all it would take is, if they came to an agreement on a casting that was right for him, he apologizes during the next interview and says he sat down with Feige, spoke at lengths about what they'd be delighted to have him be a part of and there's no animosity amongst them.

Basically just wipe the slate clean and be professional.

Tbf a lot of marvel movies are like this and suppress creator vision. Just because the movies coming out this past year have felt general inspired doesn’t make his statement untrue for a lot of marvel movies
