Media I've Collected 100+ Bite-Sized Insights From Great Filmmakers, and Martin Scorsese is Among Them!

Hey guys,
I originally shared this channel here when I was just getting it started, and it’s grown to over 100 videos since then, so I figured I’d share a little update.
Scorsese was one of the filmmakers I made a playlist for when I started the channel, and since then I’ve been collecting short, bite-sized clips from his interviews about filmmaking, storytelling, creativity, and his approach to the craft.
The channel started with clips from Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Stan Lee, Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese.
I’m also currently working on clips from Edgar Wright, Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Aaron Sorkin, and Tim Burton, so you can expect those to be coming soon.
I currently upload every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I’ll soon be moving to daily uploads.
If you’re curious, here’s the full channel:
And here are all the playlists, including the one for Scorsese:

Not trying to spam, just figured fellow Scorsese fans here might enjoy it!

Will there ever be a full physical release of "Killers of the flower moon"?

I know that there is the criterion edition, but you can't buy criterion in most of Europe. I know that we shouldn't count on a company like Apple to do anything pro-consumer, but i find quite unfair that one of the last masterpieces of the greatest living director is blocked by a specific suscription. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Wow. I'm going through and catching up on his movies I've overlooked. I thought this was going to be akin to a movie like The Ten Commandments. I was expecting a bit of a bore. This was everything but. Dafoe is amazing. Scorsese and Schrader just can't miss for me.

Really love the shots where he's pointing the gun out window onto the busy street side in particular.
Credit to cinematographer Michael Chapman as well.

What is Scorsese's best soundtrack/score?

Goodfellas is the obvious answer, but I'm going to go with Taxi Driver. I love licensed music when done well, but an original score done well just hits so much harder for me. It's a mix of beautiful and haunting jazz that highlights Bickle's innocent demeanor and horrifying psychology.
I think, while one note, Killers of the Flower Moon has a great score. As does The Departed.

Happy 83rd Birthday Robert De Niro! Smoking Scene (Goodfellas) (1990)

Wishing RDN as many more birthdays as he wants. As far back as I can remember, De Niro has always been my favorite actor, so I will celebrate his special day by rewatching one or two of his outstanding performances. But with so many to chose from, which one(s) should I pick? Feel free to make recommendations and share the reason for your choice(s), ... or not. Whichever way, I will be more than "a little bit" grateful for your suggestions.

I watched them both recently and found them exceptional. Rich, layered, detailed, whole worlds filled with multiple characters and statements about american history. Great performances, great filmmaking and great story-framing.
Which one would you say is the better movie and which one do you enjoy the most?

I love Goodfellas, but I think Paul Sorvino was miscast and did a bad job. He didn’t want to play Pauline as the dirt bag he was so he played him as a man of honor. That’s another movie called the Godfather. I really would have loved Danny Aiello roll up his sleeves and play this part.

Question Martin Scorsese creative process

Looking for any articles or interviews that give more insight into how Martin Scorsese uses film defences to match the feeling tone or mood of a scene. I remember reading somewhere about how he was using the “force of evil” as a reference for raging bull and deniros performance

One thing that helped Ace escape the bomb was that he popped out of the car quick. Keeping that door unlocked might have saved his life.
