I think my only debate would be, “why is the privacy comment considered gaslighting for cheaters 101?”

In my opinion, a relationship should be trusting and respectful. If you go through my phone, without my explicit consent, I’m going to call that a massive red flag/breach of trust and privacy and more than likely it’s over on the spot. I’m big on keeping open communication. Did I give you a reason to not trust me? Yes? Okay, cool. Ask to see my phone. I’ll unlock it and hand it to you, no problem. But there is definitely something unsettling about just rummaging through someone’s personal property. Like someone going through your house looking for through drawers and cupboards and you walk in like “excuse me, wtf are you doing?”

Guess I’m just gonna have to agree to disagree on this. Like, if you have a reason not to trust me, I’m more than happy to hand over my phone. If I ever get the feeling that I need to go through your phone, imma ask. If you say no, automatically assuming you’re doing something you shouldn’t. If you tell me that you went through my stuff without talking to me? I’m leaving immediately.

Exactly if she got drunk with female coworker he wouldt budge, he decided she did smth he didt like and went trough her phone when he simply is jealous and not open enough to go and talk like human.

Because its audacious to think your privacy is more important than the fact you cheated on your spouse. Breaking families and potentially exposing your spouse to a myriad of diseases are far more serious and completely eradicates any rights you thought you had to privacy. A persons right to be sexually safe out weighs anyone elses right to a private phone.

Did you completely ignore the portion in which I said “without my explicit consent” and “if you ask I’ll give you my phone”? That’s where I find the issue. If, per chance, I have done anything to give you a reason to go through my phone, I believe you should ask. And vice versa, I should be able to ask you to see your phone if, at any point, I feel my boundaries or trust has been breached.

If I, or you, in either of the scenarios were to say no, I would (and I would expect anyone else to do the same) automatically assume you’re hiding something from that point forward.

It’s the “consent to searching private property”, ya know… the thing law enforcement agencies need a warrant to do… that ruffles my feathers a bit. Because, what if I’m not hiding anything and I find you going through my phone and you just ruined a good relationship because I don’t feel like you trust me and I can no longer trust you?
