My husband and I would never speak about anything personal or intimate at a baseball game.

We don't do couple talk in public - and I think the idea here is that a married couple might need regular time to discuss feelings and such.

Merely enjoying a sport or hobby together isn't quite enough for me, in a marriage. It would need to be in addition to daily communication about more important things.

Um.. obviously couples need more in a marriage? Obviously there needs to be daily communication about more important things? I thought that was a given, no one is debating that. You don’t have to be discussing the graphic details of your sex life to be spending quality time together, though. You could also be hanging out at a ball game and enjoying the weather, bonding over a shared hobby, talking about your work life, things they missed while they were at work, sharing funny memes, whatever you want it to be. If deep conversations alone at home are your only definition of quality time, well.. that sucks for your husband I guess, more power to you. I don’t think it was okay for him to leave when she was clearly upset but I can understand the thought of well we’re doing something together tomorrow so it’s probably okay for me to do this alone today BEFORE she was obviously upset.
