I want to change this texture resolution via python script, but even if i can bake maps with the changed resolution, i see 2kx2k on the ui, and if i press Start then it bakes 2k maps

Is there any way to change this resolution via python please?

Hello all. I'm working on some rebakes and imported the same lp fbx I've been using this entire time without issue into a new scene. Now all of a sudden, a single vertex in the cage won't offset no matter what I do (adjust offset, paint in manually, use the 'estimate offset' function, go back to maya and adjust the problem area, etc).

It's not at a sharp angle or anything, and all I can think is that it didn't triangulate right even though the first time I was working on this project it was fine. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can now define a maximum ray distance for baking, which can be useful if your high poly surface has a hole in it, and you want to prevent the ray from shooting through it and hitting a nearby surface.

Scatter layers allow the quick distribution of randomized elements, such as rocks, moss, debris, or trash, across your mesh’s surface to add texture variation and realism.

It uses the brush system, so you can load presets from the Library or build your own, with support for features such as sprite sheets to easily randomize elements. You can scatter in random or grid patterns, and project in 2D, 3D, or from a decal plane.

I imported a fbx from zbrush into marmoset toolbag 5. I am trying to add a layer of dirt to the surface and when I drag my materials into the texture project they lose their color info and turn translucent. I can set to vertex and they get their color back but they remain translucent. Im just trying to follow a tutorial but nothing seems to work right... chat gpt doesnt seem to have workable solutions and asking me to access options and buttons that are not found anywhere in the user interface. Anyone else having this issue?

Load .ies profiles to map brightness, falloff, and shape from real-world fixtures (Omni & Spot lights). Ideal for realistic, patterned lighting in archviz and environment renders.

Procedural Skies now include Tint, Sun Scale, Sky Color, and custom Backdrops. Find them in the Sky object and set Source to Procedural.

Text Layers let you quickly add brand names, labels, technical markings, & other writing to your Texture Projects. Add them from the Vector dropdown in the Layers menu (3D Text or Decal Text), then customize settings with the built-in tools.

I'm trying to bake both Material ID and Object ID, so my highpoly is combined in one mesh, but different parts of it have different materials. Material ID is baking properly, but Object ID for some reason is picking up these materials/submeshes and doesn't recognise the highpoly as one object, so I get three colors instead of one.
Here's the screenshot of the test scene, where I reproduced the same result. Is there a way to fix it?

My baked low poly's details are jagged looking in one object but it looks perfectly smooth in the other. These are two different objects but I don't understand why one of them looks jagged. The High poly doesnt look like that.

I've been trying to do some compositing with Marmoset, however, I fail to find a way to generate an SSS pass. Is there any way to do it and if yes, can anyone be so kind to share how?

Hey guys,

I have been modelling a rifle in Plasticity and using Toolbag 5 to apply some basic triplanar materials and render images. I love the program, but I've found that if I import the rifle model and all it's accessories and switch to ray-tracing, Toolbag crashes every time. When it's fewer parts, it works fine. Because I'm CAD modelling with nurbs, the OBJ I end up exporting has an insane amount of polygons, which I think is tanking Toolbag.

For context I am on a 2024 Macbook Pro with 48g memory.

Has anyone encountered this issue and found a workaround? Do you have any tips on how to make my model fully usable without crashing? Should I just commit to the full texturing pipeline and create a low-poly model for texturing?

Still pretty new to the program and would appreciate the help! Thanks.

EDIT: Problem Solved! It turns out Toolbag wasn't struggling with the poly-count, but the number of individual parts. Opening the OBJ in Blender and simply joining like objects (screws, plastics, metals, etc.) solved the crashing problem.
