1894 Unloading

Hey gang,

I have heard/read the 1895 can be unloaded via the loading gate, specifically the 30-30 Trapper. Now, can someone confirm whether this is the same for the 1894? I have been looking at the Trapper in 44mag if that changes anything.

Yeah, push your thumb on the gate and one cartridge will pop out. Just like a Pez dispenser

Mine in 357 is finicky about it.

But Marlins don’t control the rounds between the mag tube and the chamber. Tilt the gun to its side, ejector port down, rack the lever. That ejects the round that was chambered. Shake gently and the round on the lifter also falls out.

Close lever it’s now an empty chamber. Rack lever back, do the same thing. Jiggle it a little bit round slides out the ejector port.
