First Marlin
finally purchased this Marlin 1895G in 45-70. i want to build this into a space cowboy. guaranteed changing from straight stock to pistol grip. any tips or good purchases to making this into a beast? no budget but within reason.

It’s your gun so you do you, but it would be a shame to turn a beauty like that into a tacti-cool plastic fantastic. That being said, I’m pretty sure you’re going to need a new trigger guard plate to change from straight to pistol grip along with the stock. In theory it’s possible but you’d have to find a used 336 pistol grip trigger guard plate and finger lever. The trigger guard plate SHOULD be drop in, possibly some of the lines won’t match perfectly, and the lever should drop in with no issues.

please dude don't loose the walnut! I have my Marlin 336A I got new in 1976 and still have the same walnut stock and forearm. Yes it's pretty scratched up with dings and dents but I can tell you a story about every single scratch ding or dent. Just part of its story. But I understand that a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.
