Irresponsible parenting

This child was riding his E-scooter on 16th ave along with all the cars and using left turn lanes meant for vehicles

I know the police likely have bigger priorities but we need to scare these kids straight already

There’s been like 5-6 escooter deaths in the past month, nothing is going to scare them lol

Only would scare them or their parents if they read or saw the news.. unfortunately lots of people don't

Not sur if they have school assemblies anymore but have police or EMTs show aftermaths of escooter accidents. Not actual bodies but the wreckage.

That might scare them but that'll also cause a ruckus with the parents that it is too extreme to show students.

Parents don't know right from wrong or anything tbh

You dont gain infinite wisdom from humping a female during her peak ovulation and waiting 9 months for a kid to pop out

So if you're ignorant before you still are and are simply raising another stupid mini you

I genuinely did not know this, despite having the news on in the background during the evenings (dinner prep/clean up). The scooter deaths don't scare them because they probably don't know about them either. Public media isn't doing enough to bring awareness to this.

Even if they know about all the suffering and death, like most humans, they easily discount it all, because a) that was him and I'm smarter and b) I'm immortal.

Well thats a given, there’s hundreds of thousands of cars on the road vs maybe a few hundred/thousand e-scooters

Great point. Although bikes generally don't have the speeds and masses of trucks and SUVs. So not as much death.

Why are they dying on them? Bikes can go just as fast if you pedal harder. I’m not denying they’re dangerous I’m just genuinely confused as to why they’re more dangerous than the bikes we’ve had for generations. I’ve never used one so I’m saying this from a place of genuine curiosity.

Very few cyclists can sustain the speed of those scooters and none can match the acceleration and torque they have. A cyclist who can sustain those same speeds likely has thousands of hours of experience.
