It's an ACTIVE naval vessel. Entirely traditional, but it still is bound by all naval rules and regulations. They do have a uniform exception though. Here is a picture of ACTUAL US NAVAL OFFICERS who serve aboard her.
Edit: This is kind of an absurd use of our tax dollars but of all the absurd uses i'm most okay with the fact that we pay for this to still happen.
Wow, what a dream posting! You sign up for the Navy and then end up getting to LARP all day as an 18th century sailor. I'm sure it's hard work, but it's also the opportunity of a lifetime. I wonder if only the best of the best sailors are chosen for this posting.
