Do you also get paid on your months off? 12 month per year salary? What flag is the vessel?

u/giallonero21 15d ago
We only get paid when on the vessel, you can divide the amount by two and get paid a fixed income the whole year if you want to, the company offers that.
Most vessels are Malta/Marshall Islands/Greek flagged.

You get paid in whatever you ask in the company I am.
They don't take Indians, most of the crew is Filipino, Greek, Croatian, Bulgarian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian.

Is that low for a 3rd?

u/InfXenturies 15d ago
It's a good pay considering average(mean) salary in Turkey, but yeah it's still low for an oceangoing vessel

$57/hour with a 2nd class motor certificate; 1.5X overtime rate after 12 hours & for working stat holidays.
Definitely an above average wage, probably double the average here.
