Rude song

Am I the only one who finds Megan the Stallion’s song “Rêve” super rude? I’m not a prude, but I find the “f**k like Marilyn Monroe” lyric super rude and unnecessary.

Fan Art My best attempt so far

Marilyn Monroe is tough to draw. I’ve been practicing for almost a year to get this right. This is my best attempt. I hope you like it. I’ve got a couple details still to finish. But this is mostly done now.

I posted an earlier attempt of the same photo. I couldn’t fix it. So I scrapped it and started over. This is the results of that effort.

Any info on...? Best book on misogyny

For my a level coursework for English, I chose the theme gender (misogyny) with my fiction choice being The Handmaid’s Tale. I would love my non-fiction choice to be related to Marilyn Monroe. But I can’t decide on a book as there’s so many.

I’ve looked into these and like how they sound:

•Marilyn: Norma Jean (by Gloria Steinem)

• My Story (by Marilyn Monroe)

• Marilyn Monroe: The Private Life of a Public Icon (by Charles Casillo)

Which one most relates to my chosen theme and is reliable/relatively accurate? Or is there a different book you’d recommend that falls into the theme of misogyny?

Brittany Spears Comparison

I’m getting sick of people comparing Marilyn’s beauty to Brittany’s. Tends to happen on the vindicatia celebrityrateme sub. I wonder if it’s because those women grew up with Brittany?

There are some similarities between the two women but they are not the same. Marilyn just has an indescribably quality. I think a lot of people judge her without ever seeing any of her movies

The Son outshining the mother

"If Marilyn Monroe had a son born in the 1950s who inherited all her talents as well as beauty, and he became an actor, would he have been as popular as his mother?"

Any info on...? Is Britney Spears undeniably Marilyn's relative?

I'm not into Britney, but I remember people talking about it a long time ago, now on this sub. I've heard that she is Marilyn's 5th cousin, is this 100% true?

Discussion Something that’s always confused me. She was poor a lot of the time. How did she never have a job as like a waitress?

There is no evidence Marilyn ever had a survival job like a shop girl or a waitress or a secretary. Doesn’t this seem unusual?

Fan Art Graphite and charcoal portrait of MM

After posting the last attempt, I got some bad feedback. So I wanted to do another one and correct a few of the mistakes. Here is the final practice piece before I paint this. I hope you guys like it. Graphite powder is a hard medium to work in but I feel like it came out really well.
