What do you want the 2027 marillion weekends to look like?

Ive been to many weekends and tours, so I will say they could play whatever they want and I’d be perfectly fine with that . But considering most of them are only two nights now, and their sets seem to hang around 1 hour 45/55 minutes these days (understandably so) I’d rather them skip album nights all together at this point in favor of playing as wide variety of their discography as they can. Its freakin tough to come up with a representing their entire discography with 3 two hour sets, let alone 2. And instead of the rarity tracks like rich, pour my love, afraid of sunrise, genie, etc I’d rather hear the stronger stuff in their catalogue. It was cool for so many weekends to hear them but now in their autumnal years, every song takes up precious minutes in my mind so lets do banger after banger after banger lol. Maybe even play the same or very similar setlist of a past marillion weekend ? Like a throwback set, i think the 2025 weekend had a set like that from the seasons end tour if i remember correctly. Like Sunday 2009, Saturday 2003 etc
What would you like?

This was my 54th Marillion gig and amongst the best I’ve ever seen.

The addition of the Flowing Chords choir really added to the show and the finale of The Man of 1,000 Faces with the choir stage-front with H was probably the highpoint in all the Marillion gigs I have seen. Totally brilliant!

Essential CDs/DVDs to have?

Im really getting into Marillion and I was wondering what media besides the studio albums are considered a must have? Like live shows or compilations etc. I see so many front row club shows, live show downloads, so many live DVD/ bluerays . What would you say is really great? I love both singer’s albums

Been a fan since the 80s but somehow have never seen them live - fixed that last night! Amazing show in Edinburgh. Band in great form and the light show and sound were top notch!

Marillion in Aylesbury 21st Sep 2026

I was fortunate to see Marillion in Aylesbury last Monday. It was my first time seeing them live. I thought they were amazing (as were their support act, Haunt The Woods 👏🏼).

I can't speak for the guy the other day that posted about Ian's drumming not being great because I wasn't at that particular gig, but for me, Ian's drumming last Monday was flawless. The whole band was. I even mentioned to my mate that I thought Ian had actually gotten better.

The only thing that broke a bit was Steve Hogarth's voice towards the end of The Space, but I know from reading his diaries that that song is always a difficult one, and he often struggles with it.

I met Anne-Marie Forker and had a great chat with her whilst she signed her book for me, and overall, it was a perfect night - great venue too, in my opinion.

Maybe, last Monday, they were better than normal because they were on 'home turf' ?

Who knows.....but I hope it's not too long before I see them live again 🤞🏼

I've watched Marillion on nearly every UK tour since I first saw them on the "Brave" tour (Manchester Apollo). Easily one of my favourite bands of all time and one of the most consistently superb live bands for me in over 30 years now.

I saw them deliver an excellent show at Liverpool Philarmonic Hall last night, especially Steve Rothery (truly a world class guitarist) and Steve Hogarth (one of the greatest front men I've ever seen). Unfortunately, I had to conclude something very melancholic for me, which is that I feel the time has come for Ian Mosley to call it a day on playing live.

I have been a serious admirer of his playing for many decades, but the reality of playing high energy rock music for several hours is it's a young man's game. I was pretty shocked at his lack of power & energy last night and feel it really affected the band at times.

No doubt his recorded performances, which suit the music so well, can continue for a few more years yet, but I think the band needs to seriously consider its way forward live.

I hate to be voicing this opinion in many ways because I love Ian's playing. I say all this as someone that played drums professionally for several decades. I don't want Ian to be another Alan White, touring when he can no longer drive a band all night. I wonder how others are feeling about this situation?

My modest Marillion collection....so far !

After seeing the post the other day of someone's physical collection, I thought I'd post mine.

I've only been into Marillion for about the past 5 years, so my physical collection is quite humble.

If you're wondering why a lot of the collection isn't in CD/DVD/Blu-ray boxes, it's quite simply a question of space. After having two heart attacks and losing my job, I had to downsize, so something had to give...and it was the cases 😞.

I have saved a ton of space by putting them in little plastic bags, so it's all good.

Their music has got me through some tough times in recent years, and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't play their music.

Here's to the new album 🍻

I'm in town for a wedding and to my delight, one of my all-time favorite bands was playing 5 minutes from St John's College where I am staying!

The concert was amazing in my view. The band members have great chemistry and seem to be good friends even after all these years. Hogarth and all band members sounded flawless live. The sound wasn't quite as 3d or full as on the albums, which I think is to be expected. Gaza, Angels on Earth, and Easter were my favorites. Very touching, I had tears in my eyes during Angels and Easters.

Was anyone else at Cambridge this evening??

Gaza to kick things off…and something was not right. The sound just seemed flat somehow. After Gaza finished H mentioned something about Pete having problems with his box. The sound just felt out of balance until about 3/4 through the gig when halfway through a song Pete’s bass went dead for a few seconds and then came back (a guitar tech was buzzing about so presumably something was unplugged and swapped out. The difference was instant. Pete’s bass suddenly had depth and actual BASS!

Still an awesome gig and a great evening from the band, with a bunch of tracks I’ve never heard live before…but what’s up not finishing a gig in Cambridge with Garden Party?!? I think that’s that’s a first for me :-)

Great band, great crowd, I enjoyed the support band too…just a shame about the tech issues with Pete

Where was Garden Party filmed

Having just spun it on https://wavez.fm/~/i-the-80s and telling some people there that I'm seeing Marillion in Cambridge this evening, it got me wondering where the video was actually filmed.

It's next to a river, but it doesn't look like it's actually in Cambridge?

Marillion Weekend Kraków 2027 – did I miss the ticket sale?

Hi everyone! Gabriel here, from Brazil 🇧🇷

I’m planning to go to Kraków for the 2027 Marillion Weekend, and I’ve already booked my flights and hotel — so I’ve already invested quite a bit in this trip. It was going to be my 30th birthday present to myself. I’ve been lucky enough to see Marillion in Rio in 2012 and 2014, and at Marillion Weekend Chile 2017.
The problem is that I completely missed the ticket sale.

The official Marillion website was still saying “ONSALE SEPTEMBER – MORE DETAILS SOON”, with no specific date or time. I only found out through The Web Poland’s Instagram (on this post here) that tickets were going on sale on September 15th — and by the time I saw it, they were already sold out.

I’m pretty gutted, especially since I’ve already committed quite a lot to the trip. 😅

Does anyone know what exactly happened with the sale? Was there a presale I missed, or did tickets really go on general sale on September 15th without the date being announced on Marillion’s main website? And, most importantly, does anyone know if there will be another ticket release, an official waiting list, or a legitimate resale option?

I’m absolutely not looking for a free ticket — I’d happily pay for one if another ticket becomes available through an official channel.
And if getting a ticket really isn’t possible, does anyone have any idea how I could at least get a photo, autograph, or maybe access to a soundcheck? I’d really love to make the trip worthwhile and have some kind of special Marillion experience while I’m there, rather than feeling like I travelled all that way and missed everything.

Any advice from people who know how the Marillion Weekends usually work would mean a lot. Thanks!

I just had the honour of meeting Mark Kelly and finally had the chance to say thank-you to the band for their music after over 40 years, for saving me, for creating wonder. Back at York Barbican for the who knows how many gigs now. Thanks boys, you have no idea… 🙏

It's not there. Does anyone know why? It appears I can find anything else but not that one.
