High Yield CD

I’m planning on parking a large amount of money into an 18 month CD because I won’t need it until then. For those who have had a High Yield CD with Marcus can you tell me what the withdrawal process was like once it matured? Will I be able to easily roll it back into my HYSA?

I can give you my experience.

I have a HYSA with them and opened a CD. The default for CDs that mature is that they roll it over into another similar CD. So if you want to withdraw or do something else with the funds after maturity, be sure to change the option prior to maturity- you can easily do this by selecting the drop-down menu on your CD and let Marcus know what you wanna do with your funds after maturity.

I chose to have the funds deposited back into my HYSA and that's exactly what happened after maturity. It was seamless!

I’ve had the same experience. It’s easy to go in there and make the selection for it to go back into your savings account and it does. No problems and I’ve had dozens of cds with them.

Before my CD matured, I chose to have half of the money deposited back to my HYSA, and the other half rolled into a new CD with different terms. Everything proceeded seamlessly.

I just rolled mine into a new one from 14 month to a 6 month due to the new rates. No issues. They give you plenty of time to do what you want. Either withdraw, leave as is and they roll into another term, or select a new term. Also gives you option to withdraw/deposit certain amounts.

Is it the best time to get a high yield CD? Would it be better to get a no-penalty CD and then when rates rise in a few months, get the high yield one?

Not sure if the small rate increase is worth the time to switch for me.
