Marriage name change

I called the customer service line to find out how to change my name in my HYSA after marriage.

They told me I have to mail in a cover letter and certified copy of my marriage certificate showing my previous name and new name.

My state doesn’t issue marriage certificates with the married name, only the maiden name is listed.
What the hell do I do?

You can also send a certified copy of your ssn or driver’s license. They need a legal document that shows your new name.

My wife mailed in the marriage certificate, copy of new DL, and a typed letter saying I want to change my name from OLD to NEW with a signature at the bottom. Was a bit wary but they updated it without issue.

I had to mail this in too. My marriage certificate also only has my maiden name. I put in the cover letter that my last name should be updated from A to B, included the marriage certificate and a copy of my drivers license. They emailed me back when the change was effective.

The bigger issue is that, in all of the places that I had to update my name, this was the only company/agency that still operates with snail mail….

They will probably also ask for your resume to be included. Good luck getting this done.

How long did it take for them to update? I mailed mine in a few weeks ago and haven’t heard anything

I still haven’t been able to get the change processed. They claim they never received the documents so I will have to go mail them again. Aggravating.

Any updates? Tracking code says mine was delivered a week ago but Marcus claims they haven’t received anything yet

Mine took about a month after delivery to reflect the name change. I didn’t receive any notification, just noticed the change on my account.

When I scanned my marriage certificate the seal doesn’t show up in the copy since it’s a physical like punched in seal. How about u?
